1827 LOTTERY

Carroll County was one of five counties created by a June 1825 act.

The map (click here) of the five counties shows the District numbers for each county.  The participants of the 1825 Lottery drew lots according to the
Act of 1825. (See contents of Act - click here)

Each lot consisted of 221 Acres  and  cost of $18.00.

The list of land lot drawers (click here)   gives the Section, District, Lot Number, Name of drawer, County of Residence with Militia District and the name of the county where land was drawn.
