May 10, 1862.  Roll for Aug. 31, 1862, bears remark: "Has never reported for duty but is in the serice in the 51st Regt. Ga. Inf." Enlisted as a private in Co. I, 51st Regt. Ga. Inf. May 12, 1862. Took oath of allegiance to U.S. Govt. at Knoxville, Tenn. and sent to Kentucky to be released Dec. 16, 1863.

POLIGAUSE, Julius - Private. Appears only on a list of prisoners sent to Provost Marshal at Washington, D.C., from Fairfax, Va. dated Oct. 30, 1862 with remark: "Desires to take oath of allegiance to U.S. Govt. and be released."
