Sinquefield, Thompson,
Kennon and Webster Families
I am researching the following highlighted Clay County
Families:
Sinquefield, Mary T., DOB: 7 Jul 1846,
GA., Married
Thompson, Robert DOB: 6 Oct 1841, Clay
County, GA.
Kennon who is believed to have been the
maiden name of Susan Thompson, Robert's mother.
Webster, several of whom are known to be
the cousins of Robert Thompson.
It is more likely than not, that a link to these
families exist in Clay or surrounding counties. I don't believe all members
of this family died between 1861 and 1885. Though I have records of some who
were killed during Sherman's march to the sea. And two by carpetbaggers.
If you know of anyone in the Clay Co.. G&H Society that is
a good researcher, I will be more than pleased to pay for their services.
The aforementioned Robert Thompson union had two
daughters; Mary M., Frances "Fannie" and a son John L. At some time between
1870 and 1890, Mary T. (Sinquefield) Thompson, Mary M. (dau) and
John L. (son) are deceased. Supposedly buried in Clay County, Georgia.
It is known that Robert brought his 12 year old daughter,
Frances "Fannie" to Franklin County, Texas by 1877. He had been a Miller in
GA, but was in the merchantile business in Mt. Vernon, Texas. He died in
Franklin County, Texas 18 Aug 1905. His wife, Frances died in Decatur, Texas
in June 1942. I married this couple's granddaughter, Beverly Gail Wren.
Best wishes,
