Will of Nancy Sloan, the wife of Allen Sloan and the Mother of Allen Sloan as mentioned in the will. Decatur County I Nancy Sloan of the County of Decatur and the State of Georgia being of sound and disposing mind and memory and being desirious to settle my worldly affairs while I have strength so to do, do make and publish this my last will and testament. And first I commit my soul to God who gave it and my body I desire to be buried at the cemetery at Bethel Church in said county. And after all my just debts are paid I desire my worldly estate to be disposed of as follows First I give and bequeath to my daughters Susan and Margaret the Homestead, household and kitchen furniture and the fifteen acres of land attached to said homestead it being fifteen acres off of Lot 380 in the 15th District of said county and in the South East corner of said lot. Also one yoke of oxen and cart and the cattle that are in their mark but branded with my brand and the hogs that are in their mark and have been raised by my said daughters and the present growing crop on said fifteen acres of land. Secondly - I desire that the remainder of my estate consisting in one horse(house) - the cattle in my mark and brand my hogs and fractional Lot of land lot 460 lying in the 15th Dist of said County of Decatur and State of Georgia containing about one hundred acres be equally divided among my remaining children to wit Mary Griffin Wm H and Allen Sloan and my Grand Daughter Elen A. Sloan daughter of my late dear(decd) son Samuel. Thirdly - I nominate and appoint my son Allen Sloan Executor of this my last will and testament. And I desire that after this my will has been proven and placed upon record my said Executor shall and is hereby authorized and empowered to carry out the provisions the same without the intervention of the Court of Ordinary In Witness whereof I the said Nancy Sloan to this my last will and testament consisting of two pages of paper have set my hand & seal this 27th day of August 1867 Nancy Sloan Signed Sealed Published and declared by the named Nancy Sloan as her last will and testament in presence of us who at her request in presence of each other have subscribed our names as witness hereto the & year above written Daniel Humphrey of Decatur Co Ga W. That Dipoment signed said will as a witness at the special insistence & request of Lulatrix & saw Dl Humphrey & W.
