Not sure who the people are in the other two photographs being held in the picture. It may be Sally Fortner and James Toliver Fortner, Sr. The tombstone is that of J. T. Fortner, a son of Ebenezer & Samantha. The others are Ebenezer's children and their spouses and children.

Some background on the teacher, Callie Salter, is requested. The only information I have is that she was born
7 Apr 1885 in SC and died 28 Jun 1922 in Emanuel County and is buried in the Old Garbutt Cemetery. She married William Batt Rodgers (B: 30 Oct 1881; D: 2 Aug 1951, buried in Old Garbutt Cemetery) between 1910 - 1912. I sure would appreciate any help anyone can give me regarding her parents, siblings, etc. Gloria Moore Kahrs

Image 26  George Alfred Fuston husband of Florence Warren d/o Henry Grissom Warrem and Mary R. Mosley and his cousin James A. Zettrour. No one knows where George Fuston came from and no one knows when he went. Photo was taken in one of the Stillmore Hotels in 1903 or 1904 before he married Florence Warren in December 22, 1904. Image 27   This photo was submitted by Val Craft . This is a photo of my Great-Great Grandparents, William L. Barfield and Frances Boatright (daughter of Stephen T. Boatright and Dora Logue). Four of their children are pictured. Frances is holding J.B. (James Brinson) and from left to right are: Thelma, Ledora and Charles A. The picture was taken probably take around late 1910.

Madison MacDonald Boatright was b.c. 1856 to Reuben and Julia Sconyers Boatright and dies 06 Jan 1932.


Mary Elizabeth Woods was b.c. 1865. She married Madison MacDonald Boatright. She died 23 Jun 1932.

Marjorie, Mac and Ruby Boatright Children of Fred Boatright and Rosa Ella Moore.


William Jordan Moore c. 1895 He was b.c. 1855 to William Moore and Lydia Ann Riner.

 Image 52  This picture is thought to be Capt. Lon Thompson (Eleazer Alonzo Thompson - born May 23, 1868, died May 10, 1932) and his daughter, Alma Estelle Thompson Geiger. Alonzo was a steamboat captain.  Her mother was Daisey Mabel Padgett, Lon Thompson’s second wife.  Alma Thompson Geiger (Padgett) born Sept 5, 1896, died 1971, Married William Geiger approx 1925 in Glennville,  Tattnall County.  Submitted by Bobbie Thompson Connor.

Image 57  This picture was taken June 1940, probably in Emanuel County. I believe it is Ala Thompson (Benjamin T. and Sylvestra Thompson's daughter)  Daisy's last name was probably Cowart or Padgett.

 

Image 58  The old Martin place, now burned down..does anyone recognize it?

From L-R: Kizzie “Kitty” O’NEAL BROWNIE (sp) with her arm around the head of her daughter, Ramona BROWNIE, Matilda “Tildy” GRANT O’NEAL, Nancy Jane GRANT. On the back of the picture is handwritten “This is the only photo I have at present. This is Nancy Jane and Kitty with me. I will send one by myself soon.” It is signed “Love, Aunt Tildy and Baby”. Charles Madison McCULLOUGH was the son of Joseph McCULLOUGH and Sarah Ann MOSELEY McCULLOUGH and the grandson of Charles McCULLOUGH and Esther REWIS McCULLOUGH all of Emanuel County, GA. Charles Madison McCULLOUGH married Kiziah Ann “Kizeann” MOSELEY, daughter of John H. MOSELEY and Edith THOMPSON MOSELEY.   Submitted by Sandra Hames.
