BETHANY CHURCH CEMETERY
 

Bethany Baptist Church is the oldest church in Haralson County.  Established Aug. 28, 1830 .  Land Lot #125.  Located North of Tallapoosa on
State Hwy 100 on Bethany Church Road.  The cemetery is divided into 4 sections A - D.
Charter members were:  Silas Dobbs, Samuel Jordan, Christian Hite, Aaron Miller, Charlotte Dobbs, Emelia Hite, Christian Hite, Jr., Elizabeth Hite,
Martha Jordan, Sarah Norman and Amelia Felton. Earliest marked grave in the cemetery is that of B. A. Judson, wife of P. U. Aldridge, daughter
of William and Mary McBride.  Bn in Fayetteville, Ga. on June 1831; died April 12, 1848.  (See "Haralson County, a History" by Lois Newman, Page 92)
