BIBLE OF FRANCIS ASBURY CAMPBELL
This Bible was found in the house of John Taylor James in
Madison County as it was being torn down. It was wedged in between the stair case and the
wall. It had been rained on and most of the pages were stuck together and were already
crumbling. It was very difficult to transcribe. The Bible is in possession of James
Strickland.
John Taylor James married Serapta Beard, the granddaughter of Lucy Jane
Campbell Fortson. Lucy was the sister of Francis A. Campbell.
