Page 128. MONROE COUNTY MINUTES OF INFERIOR COURT - 1840 - 1849
Georgia, Monroe County
The Honorable the Justices of the Inferior Court of said county for Ordinary
purposes met according to law Monday, November 4, 1846. Present were
Honors William S. Norman, John H. Banks and John H. Thomas. Ordered
the court be adjourned until Monday next, the 11th instant. (1846).

Georgia, Monroe County
The Honorable the Justices of the Inferior Court of said county met for Ordinary
purposes according to adjournment November 11, 1844.
Present there Honors William S. Norman, William L. Fambrough, John H. Banks and
John H. Thomas, Justices.

Eveline Cotton having applied for letters of administration on the estate of
Henry S. Cotton, dec'd, and a citation therefor
having issued in terms of the law.
It is ordered by the Court that said Emeline Cotton be and she
is thereby appointed administrator of the estate of said deceased and that she
give
and security in the sume of twenty thousand dollars.

H. W. CAIN - Georgia Monroe County:
In person before the undersigned John C. Pie an acting Justice of the Peace in
said County came H. W. Cain who on oath says that he will not sell spirits to any
person in less quantity than one quart or sell to any minor, either white or
colored, that quantity without permission from Parent or guardian of said minor.
Sworn to and Subscribed before me, H. W. Cain, this Jan 1st,
1871. John C. Poe, JP

GEORGIA, MONROE COUNTY. Know all men by
these presents, That we, John L. Allen(?) and William Langley Acknowledge
ourselves jointly and severally bound unto Elbridge G. Cabaniss, Ordinary of said
County, and his succulents and assigns, in the just and full sum of Seven Hundred
Dollars, to the true payment of which, well and truly to be made, we bind
ourselves, and the heirs and consi... of us and each of us, jointly and severely,
by these presents. Sealed with our Seals, and dated this 5th day of April
1852. THE CONDITION OF THE ABOVE BOND OR SOLICITATION IS SUCH, That if the
above bound John L. Allen who is this day appointed GUARDIAN of the person and
property of Julia Ann Woolsey and illegitimate child, acknowledging by the
same by his acceptance of said appointment, and of Letters of Guardianship of
this date, shall well and truly maintain, clothe and educate said Orphan
according to her circumstance, and shall take good and _____ care of her person
and property, according to the laws of this State, and shall annually make a just
and true return of all his actings and doings herein, unto the said Ordinary, and
pay over all assets that may remain in hand when said Guardianship shall legally
terminate, then this Obligation to be void, else remain in full force. In
Witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal, the day and year above

(Note by transcriber: John L. Allen lived next door to John W. Woolsey
on the 1850 Census. However, Julia Ann Woolsey is not listed as a member of
his family nor is she listed on the census that I could find.)

Georgia, Monroe County, To the Honorable the Inferior Court of said County.
Whereas Isaac Vineberg applies to me
for license to itinerate and trade in goods, wares and merchandise and Whereas
the law requires me immediately to notify your Honors of such application, I
hereby submit the same to this Honorable Court for your consideration and pray
your Honors to give me such instruction and advice as to your Honors shall seem
right and proper in the premises. Very respectfully, J. Anthony, CJC
I further inform the court that Adolphe Hyman
has deposited $20.00 with me and will apply for a like license after the 20th
November next, all of which is hereby submitted to this Honorable court by, J.
