CHAPLAINS Palmer, Edward Porter - Chaplain July 19, 1861. Resigned October 13, 1861. Signature appears on a letter as Pastor of the Presbyterian Church at Marietta, Ga. in which he stated that bells of various churches had been tendered to the C. S. to be manufactured into cannon. Then name E. P. Palmer, Captain of Cavalry, appears on roll of Prisoners of War surrendered and paroled at Augusta, Ga. May 25, 1865. Moore, Alexander W. - Enlisted as a private in Co. E, 2d Regiment Ga. Cavalry March 19, 1862. Transferred to Co. A, 53d Regiment Ga. Inf. May 10, 1862. Appointed Chaplain, P. A. C. S., to rank from August 5, 1862, and ordered to report to 14th Regiment Ga. Inf. Relieved from duty with 14th Regiment January 16, 1864, and ordered to report to Holcomb's Legion South Carolina for assignment. Transferred to Post duty, Greenville, S. C., January 29, 1865. No later record.
