Union Primitive Baptist Church
UNION PRIMITIVE BAPTIST CHURCH was established in 1837 in what was then Monroe County.

Excerpts from Union Primitive Baptist Church minutes.
Union Church, Lamar County, GA, was organized Aug. 18,
1837.
In August 1837 the Rv. William Moseley, David Wood,
Joseph Godard and George Wright attended at the stand
near William A. Adams in County of Monroe Seventh
District for the purpose of constituting certain
persons of the Baptist order into a church capacity
after opening the presbetery by prayer the following
general confession of faith assented by the persons
present.
The presbetery then examined their letters of
recommendation which being deemed satisfactory they
proceded to constitute eleven persons whose names are
here written church capaciy by giving the right bond
of fellowship--Aug. 18, 1837.
