Hugh P. Kerr (b. 1776, Sligo, Ireland, married Lucy Fontaine Thomson (b. 1783, SC,
daughter of Alexander Thomson and Lucy Fontaine) lived in Richmond and/or Warren Co.,
GA. from about 1806 until about 1813. Children born in those counties are Mary Ann
Fontaine, b. 1806, John and Lewis (twins) b. 1808, George Alexander b. 1810, and
Augustus Thomson, b. 1812. Circa 1813 the family moved to Pennsylvania, where
William Penn was born, then to Montreal, then to Bradshaw Creek, Tennessee.
By 1831 Hugh, Lucy, and most of their children (and their spouses and kids) had moved
to Washington County, Texas. I represent a number of researchers who are seeking more
information on all members of this family.

Looking for grave location of James Longstreet, Sr., father of General James Longstreet
who died in a cholera epidemic in 1833. Birth year 1784. He died in Richmond Co. Georgia
from the information I have thus far.

I'm trying to determine the parentage of my Great Great Great Grandfather William
McMurphy it has been said the original surname was MacMurphy he is listed in the 1860
Mitchell County, Georgia census as having been born in Alabama. I believe his father may
have been Daniel MacMurphy who was an Indian Trader at some point in portions of
Alabama. If anyone can verify this will you please contact me? Thank you

My line is James Martin Jr.  I need to prove my James Martin b abt 1780 SC & Milly? HARRIS- that came to
Indiana Territory abt 1805- is this James -son of James & Obedience.
My James Martin died in Vanderburgh Co IN after the 1820 Census.

McClung- Seeking any information on William A. McClung who moved to Augusta around
1956. He was married to Harriett Ruth McMillian. Last address on Lokey St. Stu Brown

I'm looking for information on Terrel Riley and/or Ann McNeille. Terrel Riley was the
son of Terrence Riley of Newberry County, SC, and following his father's death, Terrel
moved to Augusta, GA and married Ann McNeille around September 20, 1786. I know
nothing further about Terrel (sometimes spelled Ferrel) or Ann. Any information would
be appreciated.

Query: Seeking descendants of John McRae of Augusta, GA, who married
Catherine McPherson [dau of Alexander McPherson of Cumberland Co, NC] in
Cumberland County, NC, in 1809. Their marriage record in a NC newspaper
states John McRae was from Augusta. Any help is appreciated.

Query: Seeking information on MERIER/FELIX & COMPANY,Augusta State of
Georgia incorporated June 19, 1867. Have document...states Mr. Merier,
gardner and planter, residing in Augusta, State of Ga. of America South
at this moment in Paris. Eugene Merier was my great grandfather.
Appreciate any information on Merier family and/or MERIER/FELIX &
COMPANY.

Mercer-Seeking any information on the Mercer Family of McBean, Georgia. My
grandmothers name was Mettie Mercer. Her father's name was Nathan Mercer.

I am searching for John Mercer. His birth was listed as 1861 but other birth years
are given on LDS site and in the 1910 census. John is living in Richmond County
Georgia in 1900 with his wife Martha Welch Mercer (they married 1892 in Richmond
County Georgia. The children on the 1900 census are... William Robert, Leonard
Thomas, ELie Jack, Beulah and a child James who died as an infant. They lived in a
town called Hephzibah. According to family stories Martha fell on a fence post and
died of infection in 1905. Martha is buried in Fort Gordon cemetery. Martha's father
was Robert C. WElch. Her mother was Patsy Bryant.
John remarried a woman named Maggie. They are listed on the 1910 census in Bath,
Langley Aiken South Carolina census living with John's children who are young teenagers
in 1910. The children said that Maggie poisoned John. When he died, they ran away to
live with the Welch families and to marry. I am looking for information on John's parents

Dr. J.A.S. Milligan served in Civil War as surgeon of 1st Georgia hospital in Richmond,
Va. Reference to his name was in the Augusta Constitutionalist dated 1-8-1863.
Looking for information on this doctor.

Andrew Morgan married Jane Burnett on 22 December 1792 in Richmond County, Georgia.
Does anyone know anything about this family? I have not found them in the Taylor
Tax Index 1789 -1817, nor the 1820 census.

MORGAN Surname: Looking for info on parents/siblings of James (Oliver) Morgan who
married Mary Dathney 4/6/1816 Richmond Co., GA. Brothers may have been Eldridge,
Christopher, Moses and Minter. According to family lore, James was a circuit- rider
Methodist preacher. He and Mary migrated to AL where he died in Crenshaw Co.,
AL 1877. Any help appreciated.

First White Child Born Augusta I was told that some years ago, the Augusta telephone
directory contained an article on the first white child born in Augusta, Edmund Murphy.
I would appreciate information on how I can obtain a copy.

I am looking for any information regarding Mitchell Nelson and family, resident of Richmond
County at least 1820-30.

I would like to find an obit, burial location, or any other information for Henry Prentiss
OSBORNE. He was the commander of Company E, 39th Georgia Infantry during the
War Between the States. He died of disease at his home in Augusta, Georgia on July
18, 1863 of disease. I suspect he was buried in the cemetery of the St. John's Methodist
Church. I appreciate any help you can provide.

I am looking for any information on an Annie Mae Palmer, believed to have been born
around 1922 and died around 1952. She may have resided outside of the Augusta area
in either Blythe or Keysville for portions of her life. Any leads are appreciated.

MARY WINNEFRED PARKER (HALL)?? was born somewhere around 1920 in Henry
County, Alabama. She was married to a HALL at one time, but I believe that she married
someone else while she was working for the Augusta Police Dept. She is dead now, but I
am looking for a birthdate and date of death for genealogy purposes only. I don't know
what her last name was when she died. She is my first cousin. May God Bless whoever
can help me find her!! I do not live near Augusta where I could search the cemeteries. 

Query: Looking to verify the marriage btwn Col Samuel Henry PECK and the
bride Sarah Ann (HOLMES) De/PATE in Augusta,GA. Tradition: 25 Dec 1828.

Moses Perkins signed a protest August 10th., 1774 along with other inhabitants of the
Kyokee and Broad River settlements (Parish of St. Paul) from Whites Historical Collections.
Does anyone have information on the settlements and/or specifically Moses Perkins?

I am researching the PINCHBACK name and have found where a Sarah PINCHBACK
MEAD married a David TAYLOR on 9/3/1803 in Richmond Co. GA. David TAYLOR
later married Judith CARR in 1816 in Clarke Co. AL. I would very much like to know
who this Sarah was and who her parents were. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you,

I have small photos (called cdv's) of some Plumb family members, all taken by
photographers in Augusta, GA. They are Mr. D.B.Plumb -Oct 1870, Mrs D.B.Plumb -
Oct 1870, and Mamie E. Plumb-May, 1869. The 1870 census has a Daniel B.Plumb,
Druggist in Augusta, 3rd ward. Can provide copies of these photos to interested
family researchers. 

William Henry Pritchard,Sr. married to Jane Adelaide Diamon Sterling. According to my
Grandmother "founded the first newspaper in the south, the Augusta Chronicle and
Sentinel" Does this or did this newspaper ever exist?

 My grandfather was born in 1896 in Augusta, Georgia.  His name is Frederick
Joseph Archie Reynolds.  He had a sister named Rose Estelle Reynolds.  Rose
was born around two to three years after Frederick.  The only thing I have to go on
is that their mother's first names was Bessie or perhaps Betsey.  I have been told
Bessie.  She later remarried in the early 1900's, after the death of her husband
(Reynolds), don't know his first name,  and her last name became Rowe/Roe?  She
moved to Pennsylvania in the early 1900's, to I believe Fayette County, Pa.  I believe
the city is Connellsville.  Please help, I'm looking for my relatives from Augusta,
Georgia - last name Reynolds that came from my family.

Query: Interested in any information on the Rowe, Walker, and Smare
families of Richmond County.  Thomas Rowe married Mary Smare Oct 25,
1823 in Richmond County.  They are thought to be the parents of James
Rowe who married Mary Ann Walker July 3, 1853 in Richmond County.  A
brother of James Rowe, Robert Rowe married Rebecca C. Hood Oct 5, 1854
in Richmond County.  Several descendants of Robert and Rebecca Hood Rowe
still live in Richmond County.  Any information or contacts on this
family would be greatly appreciated.

Seeking the location and history of "Marchmont Place" in Richmond Co. Existed in 1839.
It is the birthplace of Francis Ruse Starr, son of Edward W. and Elvira Ruse Starr, according
to the family bible. I presume it was a plantation, but in all honesty I am not sure.
