The history of the Marshall Family connection begins with Rosia Marshall who was born in 1825 in Talbot County, GA. her husband
Benjamin Marshall was born in 1828 in Talbot Co, GA. They had four sons and one daughter. Rosia also had four mulatto children,
one of whom was Marshall Marshall.
Marshall Marshall was born Feb 18, 1852 in Talbot County, GA. He married Amelia Mahone born in 1855. They were married Dec 10, 1877
by Rev John Holmes. Their children were Jim, Albert, Alexander, Bill, Mariah, Mahalia, Marshall Jr, Amelia Thornton and Susie. Marshall
Marshall also had a son named Jeff B Marshall.
Marshall Marshall was a farmer. On March 6,1883 he bought a mule named Kate from James F Marshall for 1,000 lbs of middling cotton.
On March 22, 1882, Marshall Marshall's brother Albert mortgaged his mule and a cow to Sewell Gilbart for a $5.00 loan. Research has failed to present
any information about Marshall's two siblings Albert and Amy Marshall.
It is reasonable to deduce that the Marshall family, as we know it today, is a result of the slave relationship that established with William Blount
Marshall, a prominent slave owner in Talbot County with a plantation along the old Alabama Road. Bluff Springs Church is a short distance down
the street from the plantation. It is believed that Marshall Marshall was the child of William Blount Marshall. When I posed this question to
Mrs Sarah Marshall, his grand daughter, she simply smiled at me and retrieved a copy of the Marshall genealogy chart and presented it to me.
