Walker-Taylor

Married 30 Sept 1908

On the 30th, ult., at Midland, Muscogee County, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. F.F. Huling, sister of the bride, Mr. J.F. Taylor was married to Miss Annie Bivins Walker. The ceremony was performed in a very impressive manner by the Rev. Mr. Brown of Waverly Hall. At 8:30 o clock in the morning a company of relatives of the contracting parties and a few invited friends assembled to witness the marriage. At the appointed hour the bride, leaning on the arm of the groom, entered the room, which was full of expectant guests. The bride was elegantly costumed as befitting the occasion. The groom, attired in the regulation suit, looked the noble gentleman he is. Mr. Taylor is a resident of Columbus, and a fine
businessman, and his many gentlemanly traits have won many friends in a business and social way. Miss Walker was reared in Talbot County, and is a charming and accomplished young woman, and on account of her sweet and womanly disposition was very popular.
Their many friends wish them every happiness through life.
Immediately after the marriage they left for Birmingham and other points to visit relatives, after which they will return to Columbus, where they will be at home to their friends on East Highlands.

Ward - Freeman

Miss Dorothy Ward and Mr. Olin Freeman were married on Tuesday afternoon at the home of the bride s parents in Milner, the ceremony being performed by Rev. J.A. Thomas, of Macon. The marriage was a most beautiful one, the decorations being lovely and most tastefully arranged. Mr. and Mrs. Freeman arrived in Talbotton on yesterday afternoon. They will spend several days with Mr. and
Mrs. C.O. Freeman before going to Atlanta where they will make their future home. It is a pleasure to chronicle the marriage of such worthy young people and this paper wafts to them its warmest congratulations.
Mr. C.O. Freeman, Miss Mamie Freeman and Mr. Walter Freeman were among those from Talbotton who attended the wedding.

Watkins-Adams

The home of Mrs. W.D. Watkins at Baldwinville was the scene of a pretty home wedding on Wednesday Dec. 23rd, at 11:30 when Miss Orrie Jane Watkins was married to Mr. Olive T. Adams of Talbotton. Vines and ferns were used in the artistic decorations. The couple entered from the rear hall and were met by Rev. N.C. Underwood, who pronounced the ceremony in an impressive
manner. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. W.D. Watkins and possess a bright sunshiny nature. The groom is a splendid young man and worthy of the noble bride he has won.
The happy pair have the good wishes of many friends in this and adjoining counties.

Weaver - McLaughlin

The Dahlgren, Mo. Echo contains the following interesting new concerning a Talbotton young man. Mr. John T. McLaughlin, Jr., of St. Louis, Mo., and Miss Mary Elizabeth Weaver were married at the residence of the bride s sister, Mrs. R.G. Gould, in Mt. Vernon, Monday May 16th, at 10:30 a.m. by Rev. Todd, pastor of the Baptist church. After a brief visit here, they
went to St. Louis, their future home where Mr. McLaughlin is in the hardware business. The Echo extends best wishes. Mr. McLaughlin is the youngest son of Rev. and Mrs. J.T. McLaughlin. He is a young man of pleasing manners and holds a responsible position with a hardware firm in St. Louis.
Many friends wish for them a long life of happiness and prosperity.

Webster - Caldwell

Miss Lucy Webster and Mr. Walter James Caldwell were united in marriage at the home of the bride s father, Mr. A.J. Webster, on Wednesday afternoon. The home was simply and artistically decorated. To the strains of Mendelsohn played by Mrs. Corn Ellis the couple entered and their vows were plighted in the presence of a few intimate friends, Rev. N.C. Underwood officiating. The bride is a womanly woman and possesses the attributes to make happy the home and heart of the man in whom she trusts. She wore a blue cloth gown with hat and gloves to match and carried a shower bouquet of violets. Mr. Caldwell is an excellent young planter, and in every way worthy of the noble bride he has won. He is the grandson of the late Mr. Monk and has inherited the traits that rendered his grandfather so popular and successful. Handsome and useful tokens of their friends esteem were displayed. They left immediately for the groom's home at Daviston.

Windham-McCrary

At the residence of the parents, Mr. and Mrs. G.J. Windham, on the 6th inst., was married Mr. J.A. McCrary, of Geneva, Ga., to Miss Maggie Windham. Mr. McCrary is a prominent citizen of Talbot County, while Miss Windham who carries sunshine wherever she goes, is one of Taylor s most talented and lovely young ladies. Reynolds Reporter

Occurred on Sunday Feb. 16, 1908, at 2:30 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Rawls, 1124 13th Street, Columbus, Ga., the marriage of Miss Annie Mae Wood of Paschal, Ga., to Mr. Chas. Lindsay of Columbus, Ga. where the ceremony was performed by Dr. The parlor was very artistically decorated with ferns and mistletoe,
McFerrin in a very impressive manner.
The innumberable host of friends of both the bride and groom wish them unlimited success and unbounded happiness.
Mr. and Mrs. Lindsay will reside in Columbus.

Woodall-Matthews

From its mountain heights, the handsome home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Woodall, near Woodland, looked down upon a goodly company of expectant friends, assembling on Wednesday, to witness the wedding of the lovely daughter of the household, Miss Sallie Cornelia to Mr. Charles Matthews. The entire place in its fragrance of roses and great trees hanging with luscious fruit seemed to herald the gladsome occasion. Bowls and vases of choicest roses breathed sweetest incense. Miss Mattie Woodall, a cousin of the bride played softly, tenderly throughout the ceremony, as the strains of Mendelsohn s triumphant Wedding March chimed upon the glorious morning stillness, the bridal party entered, Mr. John Woodall and Miss Berta Mae Matthews then came the bride and groom. They stood within an arch of smilax, above which was suspended the letter M and behind them was a bank of palms and ferns. While Rev. J.G. Harrison was reading the impressive ceremony, Miss Woodall played Hearts and Flowers . The bride is the lovely young daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Woodall and is a young lady of rare personal chasms and superior business ability. She was exquisitely dainty and charming in a gown of cream net and carried a large bouquet of Bride s roses. Mr. Matthews, the handsome young groom is an excellent young man, whose record has always been
noble and true. He can wear without abuse the grand old name of Gentleman. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Matthews. The bride s going-away gown was an elegant coat suit of blue cloth.
The maid of honor Miss Berta Mae Matthews wore a blue crepe de chine and carried a bouquet of American Beauty roses.
The remembrances were costly and varied.
The attractive home nest already prepared, will be furnished throughout with every convenience and luxury. Besides furniture and dining room fixtures there will be every ornament in cut-glass, silver and china with which to adorn. Their home will be a place with outward beauty grand, but with such a queen of hear and home, it will be where

God showers His blessings from above.
The happy couple left over the AB&A for Brunswick and St. Simons. After the middle of September they will at at home to their friends at Woodland.
