Formed  from parts of Emanuel & Montgomery County on 21 AUG 1917. 


Treutlen County was the 152nd county to be formed in Georgia. 
The county is named for John Treutlen,  who after serving in the Provincial Congress of 1775,  became Georgia's first governor.


The county seat is Soperton, GA
