To L W Earnest, J S Oliver, Jas H Bard, W H Stansill and B F Morris. you or any three of you are hereby authorized and required to assess the sum necessary for the support and maintenance of Mrs Mary E Dowdy and her two minor children who are the widow and orphans of W H Dowdy, late of said county deceased for the term of 12 months and to set apart that amount in money or such property as may be selected by those interested in said appropriation and also a sufficient amount of the household furniture for the use of the family of said deceased make return thereof to the ordinary within three months given under my hand at office this 6th day July 1863.
