By J P Freeman, Ordinary of Whitfield County to Thomas Simmons, James masters, Michael Redwine, George Black and John Faith. These are to authorize and empower you whose names are written above to attend at the late residence of William T Redwine deceased as appraisers to assess and set apart out of the estate of said deceased support and maintenance sufficient for the use of Mary Redwine, widow and ten minor children of the said Wm T Redwine deceased for the term of 12 months and also for the use of the widow and children a sufficient amount of the household furniture. Witness my hand and official signature this 6th day of November 1865, J P Freeman, Ordinary.
We the undersigned appraisers appointed by the ordinary of said county to assess the sum necessary for the support and maintenance of the widow and 10 minor children of Wm T Redwine deceased for the term of 12 months and also to set apart a sufficient amount of the household furniture for their use have proceeded to assess the sum sufficient for their support and maintenance for 12 months and we have set apart for their use all the household furniture including beds and bedding and all the furniture and all the kitchen ware, cooking utensils, dresserware, etc and as the widow has selected the following articles we have procured to set them apart from the estate of said deceased for the use of herself and children at the value annexed to each article:
