Sound disposing mind and memory
Real and personal property consisting of my house and lot in the City of Dalton on McCamy Street where I now live, one half interest in the
house and lot where my office stands, one fourth interest in the brick house and lot adjoining Worthey's, known as the Bill Long house
and lot on Hambleton Street; the house and lot known as the old Murphy house and lot where Jesse Trotter now keeps store on Hambleton
Street, there is a mortgage lien on the same which it is subject to in favor of Wiley Banks & Co when levied by that mortgage I desire that my
executor make no --- to its sale and go to no expense, also lot of land in the 10th Dist of Whitfield County #142 I think but known as the Ted
Short lot. Also my negro Caty a woman and her child Martha; Nancy a woman and her three children Emery a boy, Lucy a girl and Fanny a girl.
One half interest in a negro man named Ezekiel. All my notes accounts, judgments and costs due me for jury fees, my household and kitchen
furniture house and buggy and all and every other article.
I will that it go to and vest in my beloved wife and children to wit my wife Amelia O Jackson, my son Thomas M Jackson and my two daughters
Mary W and Lucy M Jackson jointly to be held by my wife for the best interest of all concerned for the support, management and education of my
children. She has the power to sell and dispose of any or all of the afore named property and reinvest in real estate, negroes or good stocks in railroad
or bank stock.
Miss Cornelia Holiday live with my family and that she be supported as one of them so long as they all remain together or my wife keeps house.
I further will that the pen that I signed the ordinance of secession and the one that I signed the constitution of the confederate states with my
library be given to my son Thomas M Jackson.
Wife Amelia O Jackson is hereby appointed my executrix for the term of fifteen years and then I nominate and appoint my son Thomas M
Jackson her co-executor in case he shall be a steady boy and not addicted to gambling and drinking. In that event he is to have nothing to do
with my estate.

Pike County, GA: I, Amelia O Jackson, do solemnly swear that the within writing contains the true last will and testament of the within
named John M Jackson and I will execute the same by paying first the debts and then the legacies contained in said will. November term 1866.
