William Hammond, Whitfield County GA

 

Executor to take control of the whole of my lands in Georgia in Whitfield and Mitchell Counties, GA and carry out such rent contracts as I may have made, and make such others as he may deem proper for the best advantage of my estate. 

 

To my two daughters Victoria A Hammond and Elisabeth J Willis Jones jointly, my homestead place containing 330 acres more or less; by a live comm- --- at the spring used by testators family and going west with the line of Thomas Renfros land to a stake corner, by a hill thence due south by the land hill of lot #142.  Thence a short hill east to a stake corner by a hill recurring thence S21.6.14 chains to a stake corner by a hill, thence south 26 chains to a white oak corder, a hill remaining thence S 20 degrees W 21 chains to a white oak corner on the bank of Mill Creek a hill--- thence with the meanderings of said creek to the mouth of the branch of said spring, thence by a short hill a little north of east to a --- of plat 165, thence due north ---land lines of lot nos 165 and 140 to the NW corner of lot #140.  Thence in a line ----.  I also give and bequeath to my daughters all my household and kitchen furniture, stock, agriculture implements, etc. I will and direct my wife Lucy C Hammond shall have a home in my mansion house on said homestead during her natural life.

 

A the end of three years, my wife Lucy C Hammond, my daughter Victoria A, my Daughter Anna E Jones and her son W H Jones shall all have a home in my mansion house and have a support out of the general fund aforesaid.

 

Five portions - each to my following named children: Wm H Hammond, Anna E Jones, Julia F Spring, Genessa C Reed and I will and bequeath unto my grandson Robert H Baker $500 of the remaining fifth portion.  The residue of the fifth portion I will unto my daughter Susan E Cobb.

 

Son William H Hammond nominated executor.
