Abner Calvin Adkins, of Marion

Enlisted Ft Valley, GA 27 Apr 1861

Born 6 Sept 1831. Private Co E, 3rd Regiment of GA Volunteers, Wright's Brigade,

Captured at hospital at Richmond VA 3 Apr 1865.

Register of Provost Marshal, Dist of Henrico, HQ at Richmond VA 28 Aug 1865 shows he is a brickmaker, aged 34.

Paroled 6 Sept 1865

Wounded by gunshot from pubic arch to hip on 30 July 1864 at Petersburg VA with permanent disability.  At times given rise to nervous mania running

 into insanity and has been sent to State Asylum at Milledgeville and we attribute to that cause.

Pension Application 22 Aug 1888

(He married Evaline Maria Brooks, 9 Nov 1868, Buena Vista GA.  He died at Milledgeville 15 Feb 1890, and was buried at Buena Vista GA. )
