George J Barker

Private, Co H, 46th Regmt Georgia Volunteers

2nd corporal Co H, 46th Regmt on roll dated 28 Apr 1865 (but he is buried as Private, and wifes statement says he was crippled

and could not return to service so this corporal is possibly another G J Barker?)

Enlisted 4 Mar 1862.

Muster said he was wounded 20 June 1864 and sent to hospital.

Shotgun wound at Kennesaw Mountain 20 June 1864, lower third left leg. Requires crutch or stick to walk.

Occupation: carpenter

Wife: Missouri, married 17 Oct 1865, Upson Co GA. (she died  20 Apr 1928)

Buried at Juniper Cemetery
