Monroe County Probate Court has marriage and probate records from 1824, birth records from 1927, death records from 1940. The Clerk of the Superior Court has civil court and land records from 1821, as well as divorce records.

The Family History Library of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints contains many millions of rolls of microfilm which include original records of Georgia. You may order these films and have them delivered (for a small fee) to a local Family History Center.
