The family lived near Howard, Ga. and Joseph and Mary Adams attended Shiloh Primitive Baptist Church at Daviston Community, Talbot Co., GA.
Joseph was in the 5th Georgia Infantry Regiment and later in the 2nd Battalion GA Sharp Shooters in CSA. He was wounded at Chickamauga, GA.
The descendants of Samuel and Vashti Branan Montgomery will have a reunion on Sunday, November 1,1998 at the Crowell Community Center from 10-5.
Their children were: James, Lucinda (Carter), William, Mary (Jones),
Feraby (Carter), John, Vincent, Sarah (Ricks), Sebron, and Eliza (McCrary).
We'll meet in a common area of one of the buildings starting 10:00 AM Saturday.
This will be a time to acquaint and re-acquaint ourselves with each other.
Lunch will be in the cafeteria at Noon. Lunch is Dutch treat as usual.
We'll meet again in the common area at 2:00 PM. At this time we would like to
share old and the oldest photographs, learn of new additions and get an update
on the current family searchin'. A current wall chart will be displayed
showing all of the Phillips - Watwood ancestors and descendants.
Saturday evening is open to explore the treasures of Helen
Sunday morning at 9:00 AM we'll meet in the common area for a short
inspirational gathering before we travel homeward.

The EUBANKS FAMILY REUNION will be on the first Sunday in May starting about 12 noon. Several families still residing in Taylor and the surrounding counties
have ties to this BYRD family. We are in the process of establishing a
Byrd Family Association and would like to find as many descendants as
possible.
Some of the goals of the association will be to rejuvenate the Byrd/Glover cemetery, maintain the markers in the other cemeteries
where our ancestors rest and also to share with other family members our history. We would eventually like to publish a Byrd family history.
In 1850 Joel and Nancy Turnage Bird/Byrd were living in the portion of Crawford County which later became part of Taylor, known as the Panhandle District. According to their children's birth dates, it is thought they arrived in this area about 1834.
Joel and Nancy had 11 known children, of which six were born in Georgia. It is not known for certain where they came from, but according to various census schedules, they were from North Carolina.

Philman (Philemon) Family Reunion
August 2, 1997 (always the 1st Saturday in August)
Gainesville, Florida at Harts Spring in the Pavalion.
Over 150 expected, so come early, bring a picnic lunch, and plan to stay all day.
Special emphasis on members from the Jacob Philmon line in Lincoln County,
N.C. Jacob was killed at Rheams Station in Virginia during the Civil
War, and is the brother to James in the Philmon Branch Cemetery (Taylor County).
The spelling of the name varies -- NC used Philemon; GA used Philmon; and today it is even Philman!
