Descendants of Saundra Brown

My name is Saundra Oliver Brown. I am researching my extended family in Clay and Early County, Georgia. My family is a mixture of Indian, White, and African-Americans from these regions. I have completed some extensive research to which led to 5 family reunions so far, the last one just completed in Columbus, Georgia. Our next reunion is scheduled for 2008 in Macon, Georgia.

 My surnames are:

Leath - We are descended from a Native America Betsy Leath who appears in the 1870 Blakely, Early County Census.

Means - Betsy Leath had a daughter named Elizabeth Leath who married a blacksmith there in Blakely named Thomas-Tom Means.

McLendon/McClendon - We are descendants of Needham McLendon, former slave owner. The white cousin to touch bases with in Ft. Gaines is Jackie Rucker. Her husband is associated with the library there in Ft. Gaines. I have completed extensive researcher on the use of the name Needham McLendon and it is published under the title "I've Got A Case of the Needham's" at http://mclendon.bravehost.com/IVE%20GOT%20A%20CASE%20OF%20THE%20NEEDHAMS.htm
I've traced Needham from the Carolinas to Georgia.

Hutchins - Elizabeth Means had a daughter named Georgia Ann Means who married Allen Hutchins in Blakely.

Powell - Betsy Leath, Native American, had a son named Major Leath whose daughter Eudora Leath married William Powell Jr. in Early County

Urquhart - Major Leath married a Native American Joanna Urquhart in Blakely.

Joanna Urquhart's brother is Gruff Urquhart in Blakely.

I am looking to meet other researchers who can enhance my research. I am the founder of the email group MCLENDON-MCCLENDON@rootsweb.com . Also I have a Yahoo Group up as well for the Leath-Means-Hutchins-McLendon family.
