Anne received the tintypes from Miss Virginia Harvey, Jakin, GA. They came to her through Miss Dorothy Harvey, whose grandmother was Cynthia McLain Minter, sister of Elizabeth McLain McLendon. Miss Dorothy Harvey, known as Aunt Dot, never married and was very close to her grandmother Minter and her great aunt, Rebecca McLain. There is also included in these 4 tintypes a picture of Nannie (Nancy) Simons, another sister of Elizabeth McLain McLendon.
The mother of these four sisters, Rebecca McLean, died at the birth of her daughter, Rebecca McLain. Nancy Simons and her husband, Peter Simons, took baby Rebecca to live with them. They lived in the area a short while but moved to Jackson County, FL and finally to Jacksonville, FL. Rebecca lived with them the majority of her adult life.
