An introduction to Trish Elliott-Kashima

A friendly hello to you!
My name is Trish Elliott-Kashima, and I would like to introduce myself. I believe my purpose as a SEMA County Coordinator representative is to
represent your voice fairly. I hope you will let me know if you have issues that you believe I can help with. I served previously as SEMA CC
Representative for a few terms and stepped down due to personal reasons. Those reasons have cleared and I am ready to serve again.
I have years of experience with GAGenWeb starting in 2011 as a County Coordinator. I was a Regional Representative in GAGenWeb, as well
as ASC and babysitting adoptable counties for a time. I am the County Coordinator for the following GAGenWeb Counties: Talbot, Bibb,
Marion, Chattahoochee, and Muscogee, which are counties where my maternal ancestors lived. While my focus remains in Georgia, in the
past I was a County Coordinator for Hawaii County in HIGenWeb, Beaverhead County MTGenWeb, Nome AKGenWeb, Placer Co
CAGenWeb, and two town sites in NHGenWeb. I was also been the State Coordinator for HIGenWeb and NHGenWeb a few years ago.
I have had a lifelong interest in my ancestry and in history in general. I started with libraries and snail mail.....we didn't have computers
then. Once computers became somewhat commonplace, I looked for answers to people's "brick wall" queries, back in the old days when
that was our way of communicating genealogy-wise. I searched for a way to reach out and help more people with their genealogy, which
evolved to my volunteering to be a County Coordinator. I really enjoy being a CC, as I am very history and genealogy oriented.
I have been researching my family tree for about 55 years and know the benefit of finding primary resources on the free internet.
I'm guessing that is the case with all of us here, we know the benefit of stepping up to the plate and transcribing records to share
with others.
I now live with a wonderful man in Minnesota and continue to focus my energy on GAGenWeb. I lead a very active lifestyle, having
shed a large amount of weight over the last years (through determination, exercise and diet), am retired now and have time to serve on the
Advisory Board. My hobbies include genealogy, my websites, sewing vintage patterns, reading, music, boating, travel and gardening.
In closing, I hope I may count on your vote for SEMA County Coordinator Representative. I am available for any questions you may have,
please don't hesitate to email me.
