After the war, Washington Wayne Waters married Lavina Dora Ann Waldron b 9-22-1848. She was the d/o Oliver Asbury Waldron and Chloe Howard. He and Dora lived in the Taylortown area of Appling County, GA and had the following children while living there:

2) Nica Ann Waters, b. 9-11-1868, married James Warren Cribb b. 2-14-1868
3) William Monroe Waters, b. 10-23-1870, married Amanda "Mandy" Johnson b. 1872
4) John Madison Waters, b. 1-9-1873, married Mary "Mollie" Hall b. 10-18-1877
5) Ezra Newton Waters, b. 1874, married Georgia Ann Boyles b. Abt 1880
6) Quarterman Stewart Waters, b. 9-21-1878, married Nancy Elizabeth "Annie" Guest b. 1-27-1878
7) Martha Jane Waters, b. 11-12-1883, married John Jordan b. 11-17-1878
Dora died of typhoid fever in 1884 and was buried at the homestead, known as "The Shade Place. Washington, who was called "Major" by this time, married Sarah Jane Spell on 3-19-1885. She was b 6-14-1862 and was the daughter of James M. Spell and Sarah Jane Bagley. Major and Sarah made their home in the Bickley community of Ware County and had the following children:

13) Frances A. Waters, b. 9-11-1893, married John Sweat b. 1879
14) Thomas Elmore Waters, b. 5-15-1899, married Leila Mae Lynn b. 3-1-1903
15) Annie Waters, b. 1904, married Daniel W. Spell b 1892
16) Fannie Waters, b. 1904, d. 1904 (twin of Annie)
Major Waters died on February 1, 1917 and is buried at the Bagley Cemetery in Bickley.
