LINDA PLANTATION CEMETERY

The Linda Plantation was settled by West Sheffield
(1747-1830), a Revolutionary War Soldier, He was the son of John Sheffield,
also a Revolutionary War Soldier. West Sheffield was married twice; first
marriage on December 4, 1775 to Susannah Sherod, born October 11, 1754, and
died in 1802. Mr. Sheffield and his second wife, Martha Elizabeth Randall,
are buried in a private burial ground about one hundred yards north of the
old J. F. King residence, six miles south of Atkinson, which is now in
Brantley County, also known as the Linda Plantation Cemetery.
