Last Will and Testament of PETER CONE

 

BORN: 06 AUG 1790

DIED: 06 JAN 1866

In the name of God Amen

I Peter Cone of the county of Bulloch and state of Georgia being

of sound disposing mind & memory and in usual health but far advanced in age and knowing the certainty of death and the uncertainty of life I hereby make this writing (wrote with my own hand) as my last will and testament revolking all others and upholding this as my last.

 

 

Item 1

After my death I desire that my body be buried in decent christian like manner by my friends and executors.

 

Item 2

I desire my executors to pay all my just debets as soon as possible.

 

Item 3

I give and bequeath unto the children of my nephew P.C. Shuffield

____ Simeon, Kesiah and Peter L. Shuffield the two tracts of land granted to Frederic Rister and where in their father lived except twenty-two 1/2 acres sold to John Giger and what lies south of sand hill branch & Rister Lower Rice dam

 

Item 4

I give to Peter C. Richardson both portions of the Rister Land

south of the dam of the sand hill branch and Rister lower rice

dam and the tract of land I now live an granted to Harry Monroe

for 400 acres and a five hundred acres tract adjoining to Sharrod

McCall and and one other tract granted to Reddick Thornton for 263 acres.

 

Item 5

I give unto General C. Richardson three tracts of land and one swamp tract granted to Wm Demmark for 200 acres and one other tract of 200 acres granted to Sherrod McCall and one other tract of 100 acres granted to myself.

 

Item 6

I give to my negro woman atty four cows and their calves and one

sow and pigs which she has the liberty to choose or select before

or after my death and as much land as she may desire to cultivate

and live an during her natural life.

 

Item 7

I direct that my stock of cattle of hogs and horses be equally

divided between Peter C. Richardson and General C. Richardson and all this property of every nature.

 

I direct that all my lands out of Bulloch county be sold at publick sale at Statesboro and I appoint my sister Keziah Peacock my execietrix and Peter C. Richardson my executes in whitness where of I have here unto set my hand and seal this 23rd day of September 1865.
