R. A. Allen of Jenkinsburg died Tuesday morning at Sylvan Grove Hospital.
Funeral arrangements were incomplete at press time and will be announced by Haisten Funeral Home of Jackson.

Robert Adel Allen, 78, of Jenkinsburg died Jan. 7 at Sylvan Grove Hospital following an apparent heart attack.
Mr. Allen, who was born in Henry County, retired from Southern Railroad following 28 years of service. He served on the Jenkinsburg City Council and was a member of St. John's Lodge No. 45 F&AM, the AARP, and the Jenkinsburg Baptist Church where he was a deacon and an adult Sunday school teacher.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Kuglar Edwards Allen; daughter, Brenda Scott of Denver, Colo.; sons, Marshall E. Allen of Orlando, Fla., Robert Allen Jr. of Youngstown, Ohio, and Thomas Joe Edwards and Ron W. Edwards, both of Atlanta; 14 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; brothers, H. C. Allen of McDonough and Ernest Allen of Jenkinsburg; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held Jan. 8 at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with the Rev. Harry Shepherd and the Rev. A. L. Price officiating. Burial was in the Locust Grove cemetery.
Haisten Funeral Home of Jackson was in charge of arrangements.
