George Ingram Died On Christmas Day
Mr. George Emory Ingram, of Route 1, Jackson died about 9:30 Christmas morning in the Newton County Hospital at Covington following an illness of several weeks.
Born November 15, 1910 in Griffin, he was the son of the late Mr. Joseph Emerson Brown Ingram and Mrs. Mary Will Graddy Ingram. For the past ten years Mr. Ingram Was employed at Redman Seed Company in Jackson. He was a member of the Sardis Baptist Church in Henry County.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon at three o'clock from the Worthville Baptist Church with the Rev. Ben F. Stone, pastor, officiating. Interment was in Worthville Baptist Church cemetery with Sherrell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Ingram is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lexie James Ingram, three daughters, Mrs. Mildred Bohannon of Milstead, Miss Shirley Ingram and Miss Helen Ingram, both of Jackson; five sons, Emerson Ingram, Richard Ingram, Carlton Ingram, and Joe Ingram, all of Jackson, Olin Ingram of Covington; mother, Mrs. Mary Ingram of Jackson; one sister, Major Lemma Ingram of Ft. Benning; three brothers, Jack Ingram of Jackson; Quinton Ingram of Miami, Florida, Charles Ingram of Forest Park; two grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Horace Pulliam, W. C. Williamson, Bill Biles, Ennis O'Neal, Lonnie Rawls and Hulon Cook.
