Death of Mike Vaughn Was Unexpected
William Michael Vaughn, 16, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. L. "Cotton" Vaughn of 681 Hillcrest Dr., Jackson, died unexpectedly Thursday morning, February 25th, at two o'clock in the Griffin-Spalding County Hospital.
Mike was born April 23, 1954 in Spalding County.
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at two o'clock in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with Rev. Don Folsom, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Interment was in Jackson City Cemetery with Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his father, W. L. "Cotton" Vaughn; mother, Mrs. Evelyn Clark Vaughn; grandmothers, Mrs. Eva Clark and Mrs. Ira Vaughn, all of Jackson; several uncles and aunts.
Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers were members of the Jackson Volunteer Fire Department. Pallbearers included Joe Brown, Denny O'Neal, Billy Leverette, Buster Duke, Bill Taylor and Jerry Wayne Brooks.
Honorary pallbearers were Jim Robertson, Jimmy Saunders, Bill Mitchell, Sam Smith, Russell Price, Emory Spencer, Stanley Maddox, Buster Duke, Harold McMichael, Leslie Hamlin, Freddie Dodson, Julian Marsh, Ernest Biles and Terry Kitchens.
