Located approximately five miles north of Pollard's Corner on a utility right-of-way about 100 yard north of the road.
The cemetery is believed to be on the site of the Evans' Plantation overlooking the Savannah River. "The Point", as it is referred to, is mentioned in the will of Humprey Evans. All three graves have military markers. There are several depressions consistent with other gravesites in the same area beneath a very large cedar tree. Others who are possibly buried in this cemetery are James Lawrence Heggie, his wife Jane C. Reid Heggie and their son Isaac R. Heggie (born 1842 in Columbia Co. GA). [James A. Hall, Sr., 22 Jul 1999] |
