JOHN KING, Esquire and wife JANE of Wilkes County for 50 pounds, sell to CHARLES PORTER, 100 acres on both sides of Upton's Creek, bounded by MORDECAI MOORE, ESCLES, etc. Confiscated from WILLIAM MANNAN, a British sympathizer, and sold by commissioners of Confiscated Lands, including the dwelling house where said Charles now lives.
Mar 19th 1789. r/Feb. 13th, 1793. RHESA HOWARD and CHARLES LINN Wrightsborough, Esquires, to THOMAS MERIWETHER, SR., for 430 pounds, 450 acres on Booth Branch, a mile from the Savannah River bounded by THOMAS LOYD, THOMAS LANTON and MORDECAI SHEFTALL of Chatham County. Granted to CHARLES BURKS? July 5, 1779.
Dec. 28th 1792. r/Feb. 13th, 1793. JOHN MORRIS and wife ELIZABETH, for 120 pounds, sell to DREDZIL PACE, 150 acres on Michael's or Germany's Creek. Originally granted to THOMAS MORRIS and bequeathed by his will to son JOHN, Apr. 7th 1772. Said will signed by JAMES HABERSHAM, Esquire, also sell 45 acres adjacent and granted to JOHN MORRIS, Feb. 9th, 1790. Grant signed by Governor Telfair (A search of both the Colonial Wills and those in Augusta were fruitless. This will no longer exists and this is the only proof that there ever was a MORRIS Will).

ISAAC VERNON sells for 67 pounds, to JOEL SANDERS, 150 acres, part of tract originally granted to JOSEPH MADDOCK and ISAAC VERNON, deceased, (Quakers) called the Mill tract. Relinquishment signed by MARY VERNON, REBECCA VERNON and MARGARET HODGINS, wife and sisters of above named Isaac.
Mar. 27th 1792, r/Mar. 30th 1793. BENJAMIN REES and wife SARAH, sell to ABRAHAM SANDERS of Wilkes County, for 60 pounds, 230 acre on Middle Creek, bounded East by land sold by said REES to EDWARD HAYES; North by land sold to JACOB SMITH. West by land sold to HUGH REES, South by Wilkes County line. (after 1793, this part of Wilkes became part of Warren County) All parts of a tract of 1281 acres confiscated from Sir JAMES WRIGHT and purchased by said REES.
July 10th, 1789. R/April 3rd, 1793. THOMAS GALPHIN, of South Carolina, the only qualified surviving Executor of GEORGE GALPHIN, deceased, sells from the estate to DANIEL MCMURPHY, for 250 pounds, 500 acres on Keg Creek, in Parish of St Paul. (In 1789 it was Richmond County, Became Columbia in 1790) Bounded northeast by vacant lands; southeast by JOHN SCOTT, Northwest and southwest by SWINT and LANTORN. Granted to GEORGE GALPHIN, Feb 7, 1775.

FEB. 20th 1788. r/Apr. 2nd 1793. THOMAS and JAMES ADCOCK for 50 pounds, to EDMOND CARTLEDGE, Jr., 50 acres on Keg Creek, adjacent JOHN ADCOCK. Originally granted to said THOMAS Apr 5, 1785.
Jan 26th 1793. r/Apr 11th 1793. THOMAS STAPLES and wife RUTH; JOHN CURRIE and wife REBECCA, THOMAS JONES and wife SARAH, daughters of ROBERT STORY, decd., sell to PRUDENCE STORY, widow of said ROBERT (Chatham) for 20 pounds (county) their distributive portion of estate of deceased father. All part of that tract 120 acres on Greenbriar Creek, granted to ROBERT STORY.
Feb. 13th 1793. r/Apr 4th 1793. PRUDENCE STORY sells 58 acres of above to SHERWOOD BUGG for 34 pounds.
July 31, 1792. r/April 4th 1793. WILLIAM WALTON for five shillings, sells to JOSEPH DARSEY, 179 acres on Big Kiokee Creek.
Oct, 23rd, 1791. r/May 2nd 1793. THOMAS and OLLY WILLINGHAM of Columbia County, ALEXANDER JOHNSON, AYRES HOLLIDAY, JOHN WALKER, CORNELIUS JOHNSON, JACOB JOHNSON, JOHN JOHNSON, SALLY JOHNSON, MAJAY(?) JOHNSON , all of Wilkes Cty, sell to ROBERT ALLEN for 150 pounds two tracts of land totaling 200 acres, one granted to RICHARD CASTLEBERRY, July 29th 1785. One granted to JACOB CASTLEBERRY, same date, on White Oak Creek. CASTLEBERRY and NELLY WALKER relinquish dowers.
Oct 6, 1790. r/May 8, 1793. JOHN BOYD to NICODEMUS BOYD, for seven pounds a quit claim to his claim in land of father JOHN BOYD, deceased, consisting of 400 acres granted said BOYD, deceased Feb. 7, 1775, and 200 acres adjacent to where ELIZABETH BOYD, widow of said JOHN now lives.
Nov. 17th 1792. r/May 8th 1793. DAVID BOYD and wife SARAH, of Washington County, Georgia, relinquish to NICODEMUS BOYD, for five pounds, their
one-eighth part of the above 600 acres tract. One tract whereon ELIZABETH BOYD, widow, now lives. The other nearer the Savannah River, originally granted to JOHN BOYD, deceased. The one-eighth part or 75 a. being David's proportion of the real estate of said JOHN BOYD, as one of his heirs.
May 13th, 1793. Power of Attorney. PETER THOMAS, a soldier in the 14th, VA. Regiment, commanded by COLONEL LEWIS and later by ANTHONY WHITE, in the Horse service, appoints JOSHUA GRINAGE to collect all bounties and arrearages in pay due him from the United States or the State of Virginia.

All other sides vacant at time of survey. Granted to CRITTENDON by Gov. TALFAIR Jan. 29th 1792. Ann relinquishes dower rights.
Apr. 13th 1787. r/June 13th 1793. MAJOR WILLIAM BROWN and wife ANNE, of Richmond County, sell to DANIEL WILLIAMS and JOHN STUBBS, JR. for
15 pounds, as Trustees for the Society of People, known as Quakers, on absolute purchase and freehold, 43 acres in Township of Wrightsboro, on the waters of Upton Creek, containing the house called the "Quaker Meeting House." including a spring. Said JOHN RAE, was the last surviving partner of the firm of JOHN RAE, ROBERT RAE, JAMES RAE, SAMUEL ELBERT and THOMAS GRAHAM, merchants.

Apr. 16th 1793. r/June 27th, 1793. PRUDENCE STORY, widow of ROBERT STORY and ELEANOR SCRUGGS, daughter of ROBERT STORY and wife of JAMES SCRUGGS, sell to HUGH BLAIR for 30 pounds, 52 acres on Walker and Story's spring branch on Great Kiokee Creek, part of 400 acres granted to ROBERT STORY.
April 16th 1793. r/July 3rd 1793. ANNE BENNETT to JOHN SCRUGGS, son of JAS. SCRUGGS for 30 pounds, 30 acres on Greenbriar Creek, part of Story estate, adjoining SHERWOOD BUGG and MICHAEL SMALLEY. Sold by JAMES SCRUGGS to WILLIAM WATKINS, by him to HUGH MAGEE and by him to said ANN BARNETT.
July 10th 1793. r/July 10th 1793. Bill of Sale, WILLIAM WATKINS to SARAH UPTON for 50 pounds, one sorrel horse, one bay horse, two bay mares. One Negro man, Amos. Five head of cattle, Two feather beds and furniture; all household and kitchen furniture and two shot guns.

PELEG GREENE and FREELOVE, his wife of Georgetown, Wilkes County (settlement on Ogeechee River that has lost its identity) to ROBERT BOLTON a merchant of Savannah, mortgages, land, indebted for 88 pounds, 10 shillings, seven pence, one promissory note dated Jan. 7 1790, mortgages a parcel of land on Big Creek where one MCKINDLEY now lives, containing 300 acres, part of 400 acres tract granted by Gov. Telfair to JOSEPH WILKINS, Jan. 24 1791.

April 3rd, 1792. r/ Aug 10th, 1793. JAMES HAMILTON, Esquire, Sheriff to ROBT. MIDDLETON of Greene County, suit brought by RICHARD WYLEY and LEONARD CAIL?, against estates and property of HORATIO MARBURY, SAMUEL JACK AND ROBERT MIDDLETON, to satisfy a debt of 523 pounds in Wilkes County Court. Sheriff sells 100 acres at auction, purchased by R. MIDDLETON for 51 pounds. Land was part of tract granted to HENRY GOLDING Aug. 2nd, 1774, sold by him to LEONARD MARBURY; by him to ELIZABETH FRAZER; by her to HORAATIO HARBURY, adjoining land formerly belonging GEORGE GALPHIN.

NATHANIEL BARNETT and wife SUSANNAH, sell to FRANCIS CRAWFORD, Exec. of JOEL CRAWFORD for 100 pounds, one half of the land said Barnett now lives on, containing 400 acres. Line to begin at ROSEBOROUGHS corner, bounded South by Little Kiokee Crk. East by MCFARLAND's land, Northwest by HORN and CRAWFORD.

Bill of Sale from JOSEPH MORTON to GERARD BANKS of Wilkes County, for 94 pounds, a good new "waggon and geer"; one sorrel gelding 12 years old, with but one eye; one sorrel mare with blaze face. One sorrel mare about five years old, well bred. One chestnut gelding named Pontius and a well-bred black mare named Kitty Fisher.

June 22nd 1792. Benjamin Porter and wife Patsey CLAIBORNE of Wilkes County, sell to CHARLES CROOKSHANKS of Maryland, for 1000 pounds lawful money a parcel of land known as "Fruit Hill", containing 350 acres granted to WILLIAM FEW. Also another tract of 200 acres granted to ANDERSON CRAWFORD. Also a part of 200 a. tract granted to ALEXANDER DOUGLASS, by him conveyed to JOHN CARMICHAEL and by him to PORTER. All on Greenbriar Creek.

ELIZABETH BOYD, widow of EDWARD BOYD, wishes daughter Mary to have property left by her father, all land left by deceased, including tract on which his relict now lives; Three cows and calves, as follows: One black cow, with a short tail, marked with a swallow-fork in each ear and an underkeel in the right; one brindle and one other black cow, so marked. One two-year old heifer, one black and white bull calf.

Also slaves: Lewis, Sam, Charles, George, Ralph, Bob, Dave, Harry, Jimmy, Aggy, Sue and Phillis. One sorrel gelding. Two bay geldings five cattle, 16 hogs one wagon and gear. Three bedsteads and furniture, saddle and bridle, all household and kitchen furniture and plantation tools.

JOAB WATSON of Pittsylvania County, VA. to DAVID HARRIS to collect from WATERS DUNN, SR the amount of a judgement obtained in Essex County Virginia and a further sum of 14 pounds from JOHN DUDLEY REYNOLDS of Wilkes County, Georgia on a bond given to Capt. JESSE CARTER and endorsed to said JOAB WATSON.
