        Feb. 27th 1797.  r/Oct. 13, 1797.  JAMES HABERSHAM, JR., to WILLIAM SCOTT, for 50 pounds, part of the land in the vicinity of Wrightsborough, known as the Horse Pen tract, adj., the MADDOCK Mill tract, by survey 300 acres.

       Feb. 1st 1794.  r/Oct. 13th 1797. JACOB BULL, SR., to JOHN SCOTT for 35 pounds, a tract of 100 acres, being a moiety of the Mill tract, originally granted to JOSEPH MADDOCK.  RENNIS BULL relinquishes dower.

       June 1st, 1797.  r/Oct. 13th 1796.  ISAAC HART of Wilkes County, to ESTHER GREEN, Admx., of estate of Amos GREEN, deceased, for $354, sells "all my part of land belonging to my deceased father, SAMUEL HART, " formerly granted said SAMUEL ISAAC LOWE and JAMES HART by Sir James Wright in 1769.

       Jan. 23rd 1795.  r/Nov. 15th 1797.  ANNE BENNETT of Wilkes County, to Thomas HOWARD for 60 pounds, a plantation containing 99 acres, part of a 200 acre tract granted to said ANNE BENNETT by Gov. Matthews, Dec 5, 1794, bounded by William STANLEY, Thomas NAPIER and Martin MELLOWN.

        Mar. 12th 1797.  r/Nov. 15th 1797.  JEREMIAH LAMKIN to AMOS SESSIONS for $30, a 60 acre tract on Little Kiokee Crek, adj. CARTLEDGE and RAY, granted to said Lamkin in 1787.

        June 29th 1797.  r/Nov. 15th 1797.  JOHN APPLING to PATRICK CARTEN for "42 half dollars" 21 1/2 acres adj. said Carten, part of a tract granted to JOHN WALTON, Feb. 7th 1775.

        Nov. 1, 1796.  r/Nov. 15, 1797.  JOHN HARGROVES and wife Anne, of Warren County to P. CARTEN, for 31 pounds, four shillings, 104 acres on Greenbriar Creek, beginning on Richard UPTON's line, adj. DAUGHERTY and STANFORD.  Originally granted to JOHN WALTON and LUD WILLIAMS, by them to JAMES ROSS by him to said Hargroves.

        Nov. 1st 1796.  r/Nov. 15, 1797. J. HARGROVES and wife Anne, of Warren County to PATRICK CARTEN and ALEXA BEALLE, for 100 pounds, a 100 acre tract granted to RICHARD UPTON, Nov. 1st 1774 by Sir James Wright.

        Nov. 6th 1797.  r/Nov. 16, 17979.  JOHN SCOTT to WILLIAM SCOTT for 35 pounds, a 100 acre tract, being the west extremity of a tract granted to JOSEPH MADDOCK and ISAAC VERNON, known as the Mill tract, bounded by the Horse Pen lands and JOHN OLIVER.

       Aug. 15th 1796. r/Feb. 25th 1797.  SOLOMON ELLIS and wife Margaret, to Rev. MOSES WADDELL, for 50 pounds, a 100 acre tract on Great Kiokee Creek, including the house and plantation whereon said Waddell now lives, being part of tract granted to NATHAN HARRIS and sold to said Ellis.  Margaret relinquished dower.

        Jan. 1st 1793.  r/Feb. 24th 1797. JAS. CULBREATH and wife Susannah, to THOMAS PERRY for 50 pounds, 25 acres on Little Kiokee Creek, adj. WM. TARVIN (TARVER?), BEVERLY LOWE, GIDEON BOOKER, including Culbreath Mill and plantation.

       Mar. 1, 1796.  r/Feb. 24th 1979.  JAS CULBREATH, admr. estate of THOMAS PERRY, sells at auction, on order of the court, above listed tract.  WILLIAM BOOKER high bidder at 50 pounds.  Land granted to Culbreath, Feb. 7 1786.

        April 1st 1782.  r/Feb. 25th 1797.  Thomas and Elizabeth STETSILL, sell to SAMUEL HANSON, for 70 pounds, 200 acres on both sides of Brickhouse Creek, including Thomas, Eustice and John STETSILL's improvements.  Granted to said Thomas, Jan. 10th 1773.

        May 3rd 1777.  r/March 27, 1797.  ALEXANDER OLIVER and wife Mary, (Oliver was a blacksmith), to WILLIAM FERRILL, merchant for 30 pounds, 119 acres on Upson's Middle Creek, adj. to JOHN OLIVER, part of a 250 acre tract granted SAMUEL OLIVER, July 3rd 1770, conveyed to Alexander by Samuel and wife Elizabeth, June 12th 1773.  (Oliver's were Quakers)

        May 2, 1777.  r/Mar. 27th 1797.  ALEXANDER OLIVER, Exr. of estate of JOHN OLIVER, Blacksmith, and his wife Mary, sell to WILLIAM FERRILL, merchant, for 100 lbs, a 200 acres tract near Wrightsborough Town, part of a 300 acre grant to JOHN OLIVER, July 3rd 1770.

        Mar. 31st 1796.  r/Mar. 27th 1797.  PETER ZACHRY and wife Mary, to MATTHEW KILLINGSWORTH for 30 pounds, 312 1/2 a. on Uches Creek, adj. RICHARD HILL, WM. BARNETT, RICHARD CALL, JOHN ZACHRY and JAMES COBB.  Originally granted Zachry.

        Mar. 31st 1796.  r/March 27th 1797.  PETER ZACHRY and wife Mary, to THOMAS WATSON for five shillings, 240 acres on Uchee Creek, Adj. WILLIAM KINDALL, JOSEPH HANCOCK, RICHARD HILL and said Zachry.  Part of a 500 acre tract granted Zachry, Dec. 31 1787.  (Watson married Susannah, Daughter of Peter Zachry).

       Mar. 27 1797.  r/same date.  Relinquishment.  THOMAS WATSON being materially interested with PETER ZACHRY in 700 acre on Uchee Creek, laid out in two surveys:  500 acres granted said Watson and Zachry, Dec. 3rd 1787.  150 acres same grantee, Nov. 22, 1788, which lands the said Thomas and wife Susannah, for one peppercorn, relinquished all claim to above unto said Zachry.

        Apr. 24th 1796.  r/Mar. 27th 1797.  CHRISTOPHER MILLIRON to BENJAMIN KING for 30 pounds, 300 acres on Whiteoak Creek formerly granted to WILLIAM STANLEY and willed by JAMES STANLEY to ANN WALLS, whereon she doth now live.  "Milliron warrants to defend said (the) land against all persons claiming the same, as far as respects James Stanley's will to a Wall legatee".  (a search of Richmond, Warren, Columbia counties and Colonial Will Book failed to turn up this will)  NOTE:  The Stanley people came from Jones County, N.C.)

       June 13, 1792. r/Mar. 26, 1797.  WM. GERMANY, of Washington County, to JOHN LAMKIN for 40 pounds, 74 acres granted said Germany Nov. 24th 1786, adj. JOHN GERMANY on south side, Dr. HOUSTON on southwest.

        Apr. 9th 1796.  r/Mar. 28, 1797.  Bill of Sale.  WILLIAM APPLING to ZACHARIAH SINQUEFIELD, a Negro man, Isham, for $280 now in possession of BASIL LAMAR, until November next.

       Sept. 11th 1775.  r/Mar. 28th 1797.  ROBERT MIDDLETON and wife Elizabeth, to MICHAEL GRIFFIN, for five shillings, a year least on 100 acres in St. Paul Parish, bounded southwest by JACOB WELDON, all other sides vacant at time of survey.  (St. Paul's Parish became Richmond County in 1790)

       Nov. 8, 1796.  r/Mar. 30, 1797.  WM. CARROLL to JOHN CARROLL for 30 pounds, 30 acres a part of a 2000 acres tract granted to WILLIAM CARROLL by Gov. Telfair, Oct. 5, 1790, adj. PRATOR and YOUNGBLOOD.

       Mar. 3, 1794.  r/Mar. 30, 1797. WM. CARROLL to JOHN CARROLL for 50 pounds, 200 acres on Sandy Run Creek, granted to WILLIAM CARROLL by Gov. Matthews in 1787.

        Nov. 18th 1790.  r/Mar. 30th 1797.  NEHEMIAH DUNN and wife Ruth, to DANIEL ELAM, for 150 pounds, a 200 acre plantation whereon "I now live" on both sides of Greenbriar Creek, bounded by TALFAIR, WALLISON, PINSON and NAPIER. Conveyed by Robert WATKINS and wife, heirs at law, to said Dunn.

        July 3rd 1796.  r/March 30th 1797.  SOLOMON MARSHALL, Deputy Sheriff, to MARTHA RICKETSON of Richmond County for 29 pounds.  Marshall had levied on property of SIMON T. Rede (REED), a tract on Savannah River, originally granted to JOHN BOYD, by will conveyed to son, John, Jr., and by him to SIMON REDE.  No acreage shown.

       July 3rd 1796? r/March 30th 1797.  SOLOMON MARSHALL, Deputy Sheriff to MARMADUKE RICKETSON of Richmond County, on judgement against SIMON REDE, sells at auction, a tract originally granted to JOHN BOYD, by will conveyed to MARMADUKE RICKETSON and conveyed by him by deed to said Rede.  Purchased at auction by Ricketson for 45 pounds.

        Aug. 1st 1796.  r/Mar. 30th 1797.  WALTER DRANE, Sheriff, to THOMAS CARR, Esquire, and SEABORN JONES, attorney of Richmond County, for $279, a tract of 3,250 acres adj. MAGRUDER and others, late, the property of RICHARD CALL, decd., also all that tract containing 2,300 a. on Fort Creek, adj. White and Robertson's Iron Works land, also the former property of said Call.  Also 1,320 acres on the trading road, adj. Danelly and others, property of Major Call, deceased, and 1,485 acres on Boggy Gut Crek, property of Major Call, seized under two executions against the estate of said Call, on suits of THOMAS CARR and JOHN RAE. Sold auction.

        Aug 8, 1794.  r/Mar. 31, 1797.  BENJAMIN FINNEY to JAMES TINSLEY for 10 lbs, 100 acres, part of a 300 acre tract surveyed for LITTLETON YARBOROUGH, June 2nd 1797, bounded by BOOKER land.

        Dec. 28 1796. r/Mar. 31st 1797.  JOHN ZACHRY and wife Salley, of Wilkes County, to JAMES TINSLEY for 10 pounds, 300 acres on Savannah River, surveyed for said Zachry, April 2, 1797.

        March 2nd 1796.  r/Mar. 31st 1797.  DANIEL DANIELLY, wife Elizabeth and EDWARD PRATHER, planters, to JOHN CARROLL for 40 pounds, 100 acres on waters of Kiokee and Boggy Gut Creeks on both sides of the road.  Originally granted to EDWARD PRATHER.

        Feb. 24th 1796.  r/Mar. 31, 1796.  WM. STEVENS and Rebekah, his wife, to GEORGE CONN of Richmond County, for 50 pounds, 400 acre son both sides Cane Creek, bounded by CALDWELL, MOSSMAN, BROWN, CANDLER and THOMAS STAPLER, late the property of JAS. HANEL (HARRELL?), sold by the Commissioners of Confiscated lands, to said Stevens, September 13, 1785.

        Jan 13, 1795.  r/Mar. 31, 1797.  WM. FEW, the younger, to THOMAS NAPIER, for five shillings, a piece of land with improvements made by DICKENSON, bounded by said FEW, ROBERT RANDOLPH, IGNATIUS FEW and said Napier, on Germany Creek.

        May 5, 1795.  r/Mar. 31, 1797.  Bill of Sale.  JAMES HAMILTON, Sheriff, on writ of fi-fa, issued in Wilkes County on property of HORATIO MARBURY, sells at auction, Negroes, Will, Silla, Monday Toby, Cate, Jinney, Sue, Alora and Nan.  Purchased by JOHN MARCUS for 202 pounds.

        Nov. 1st 1796.  r/Apr. 1st 1797.  JOSHUA VAUGHN to ROBERT CRAWFORD, for five shillings, 15 acres of Little Kiokee Creek.

        Jan. 22, 1796.  r/Apr 1, 1797.  JOHN SUTHERLAND and wife Elizabeth, to NATHANIEL PEARRE, for 10 pounds, 33 acres on Whiteoak Creek, bounded by STANLEY, DANIELLY an HICKS.

       Jan. 12th 1797.  r/Apr. 1st 1797.  PETER YOUNGBLOOD of Richmond County, to JAMES CULBREATH, for 28 pounds, 300 acres on Trading Path, granted said Youngblood Aug 6, 1793.  (On Fortune Branch)

        Sept. 10th 1796.  r/Apr. 1st 1797.  HEZEKIAH JONES and wife Obedience, to REBEKAH SMITH for 100 pounds, 200 acres on Little Kiokee Creek, granted to FREDERICK BROWN in 1785, conveyed by deed to said Jones.

        Nov. 3, 1795.  r/Apr. 1, 1797.  JAMES HAMILTON, Sheriff, on fi-fa against WM. TERRILL, on suit of ROBERT MIDDLETON, sells at auction 200 acres granted to JOHN OLIVER, 119 acres granted to SAMUEL OLIVER, sold to JAMES REESE for $500.

        May 6, 1794.  r/Apr. 1, 1797.  JAMES HAMILTON, Sheriff, to JOHN MCFARLAND, on fi-fa against THOMAS TRAVIS.  Property sold at auctions, consisting of 100 acres for 24 pounds.

        Sept 19th, 1795   r/April 11, 1797.  Deed of Trust.  PRISCILLA HORN, widow of JESSE HORN, to JOHN EADES, JR., "Placing trust in him", all lands, slaves, goods, and chattels, from estate of deceased husband, "and now held in my own right", to be held in trust for her "if I die intestate, property to be equally divided among my children".  (Priscilla married a Jenkins soon after her husband's death, and requested that ANDRE HAY of Richmond County be appointed guardian of her children, Pheraby, John and Andrew)

        Mar. 2 1797. r/Apr. 20, 1797.  JOS. GILL of Oglethorpe County, to JOHN GRINNAGE for $600, sells slaves, Sam and Mary, now or lately in possession of WILLIAM HOBSON of Rutherford County, N.C.

        March 1st, 1796.  r/Apr. 20th 1797.  Whereas, JAMES BROWN, SR., and JAMES BROWN, JR., surviving partners of Allen Pollock, obtained a judgement against NATHANIEL MILLER, admr of estate of PAUL CALDWELL, deceased, of Richmond County.  Property sold at auction, purchased by WALTER DRANE for 140 pounds, 116 acres on Little Kiokee Creek, part of a 350 acres tract granted to GEORGE ROSEBOROUGH, dec. and conveyed to his son. WM. ROSEBOROUGH. (Mrs. Roseborough married a Coleman and left a will in Columbia County in 1803, naming her Roseborough children)

        May 28th 1796.  r/April 26th 1797.  NICHOLAS MERIWETHER to PATRICK BRINSON for 50 pounds, 200 acres at the fork of road leading from Washington in Wilkes and Petersburg in Elbert to Augusta, a mile above Uches Creek.

        Mar. 10th 1796.  r/Apr. 26, 1796.  WILLIAM WALTON and wife Sarah, to PATRICK BRINSON for 40 pounds, 20 acres (no location given)

       Mar. 15th 1797. r/Apr. 26th 1797. SAMUEL PAYNE, SR. and Ann, his wife, to BOSWELL SMITH for 180 pounds, 360 acres on the Savannah River and Kegg Creek.  Originally granted to RALPH KILGORE.

        Apr. 1, 1796.  r/Apr. 27 1797.  JOHN WRIGHT sells to BENJAMIN KING for ____ pounds, a 100 acre tract on Greenbriar Creek, surveyed by DANIEL MCCARTY, Nov. 10, 1772.

        Mar. 28th 1791.  r/Aug. 24th 1791.  SEAKIN DORSEY and wife Anna, to RANDALL RAMSEY for 100 pounds sterling, 200 a. bounded east by BURNETT.  West by FULLER, North by DAY.  South by vacant lands.  Granted to WILLIAM MADDOX by him to SOLOMON ELLIS by him to said Dorsey.

        Mar. 28th 1791.  r/Aug. 24th 1791.  Same as above for 100 pounds, 92 acre bounded southeast by STEPHEN DAY.  N.W. by WILLIAM MADDOX and JOHN FULLER, granted to JOSHUA FULLER by him to SOLOMON ELLIS by him to JOSEPH DORSEY by him to said SEAKIN DORSEY.

        Aug 6, 1791.  r/Sept 7, 1791.  ANDERSON CRAWFORD and wife Rachel, to JOHN McMUNN for 50 pounds, 195 acres, bounded north by WILLIAM MILES and MOORE's land.  East by ISAAC JACKSON. South by THOMAS WATSON.  West by BURKE and PERKINS, on waters of Upton Creek, formerly granted to HENRY WRIGHT, sold by Sheriff of Richmond County to said CRAWFORD.

        Oct. 6, 1791.  Power of Attorney. WM. T. BOOKER, to brother GIDEON BOOKER, to dispose of any lands he possesses in said county.

        Nov. 22, 1783.  r/Oct 6. 1791.  Commissioners of Confiscated Land (ABRAHAM RAVOT, HUGH LAWSON and HEPWORTH CARTER), to ROBERT FLOURNOY, for 204 pounds sterling, all that plantation of Sir James Wright, in the Township of Wrightsborough known as the Quaker Meeting House tract, bounded northwest by JOSEPH MADDOCK. THOMAS JACKSON.  Northeast by JOHN DAVIS, PAGE and JOHN WATSON.  Southeast by SMITH and SAMUEL OLIVER.  West by JONOTHAN SELL, JOHN SIDWELL, JOSEPH MADDOCK and ISAAC VERNON's Mill Land, containing by estimate 1579 acres.

        (Same principles, same date). for 165 pounds, 1000 acres in Wrightsborough Township formerly property of JOHN GRAHAM bounded by vacant land.  JOHN DOWNS and JAMES EMMITT on both sides of Town Creek (Now called Middle Creek)

        October 14th 1791.  Bill of Sale from SARAH COLEMAN to WILLIAM SHIELDS in trust for ELIZABETH ROSEBOROUGH.  Negroes, Judy, Sall, Bobb, Ben, Lidda, Patience, John and Ralph.  Two horses, three cows and calves, two heifers, one steer.  Two beds and furniture, one woman's saddle, two tables, eight chairs, two pots.  One Dutch oven, one skillet, one coffee mill, two flat irons.  One dish, eleven plates, one spinning wheel and cards; two plows and traces, one looking glass, five tea cups and saucers, three drinking glasses and decanter, six silver spoons, one tea kettle, six knives and forks, two weeding hoes.  One basin and seven hogs, for 191 pounds, 10 shillings, six pence. (SARAH COLEMAN was GEORGE ROSEBOROUGH's widow)

        May 7, 1774.  r/Oct. 17 1791.  WM.  LINN to JOSHUA PERKINS of 96th District, S.C., a carpenter, lease for one year on 100 acres in Township of Wrightsborough for 10 shillings.

        May 8th 1774.  r/Oct. 17 1791.  WM. LINN to JOSHUA PERKINS, "Whereas by grant July 3rd, 1770, in the 10th year of His Majesty's reign, under the hand of Sir James Wright, Esquire, Lieut. Governor and Commander in Chief over the Province of Georgia and the great seal of the Province."  WILLIAM LINN was granted 100 acres in Wrightsborough Township, sells it to PERKINS for 20 pounds sterling.

        Dec. 22nd 1774.  r/Oct. 19th 1791.  PERKINS leases above land to WILLIAM WALKER for one year for five shillings.

        Next day Perkins sells land to WALKER for 30 pounds.

        Sept. 20th 1784.  r/Oct. 20 1791.  WALKER sells above trace to JOHN FLUKER for 40 pounds sterling - land further described as being on Germany Creek.

        Feb. 4th 1790.  r/Oct. 20th 1791.  JOHN FLUKER and wife Rebecca, sell above tract to BENJAMIN FEW for 300 pounds, lawful money of State - great jump in price indicates fact American money had declined in value - some almost worthless.

        Feb. 14th 1791.  r/Nov. 12th 1791.  ALEXANDER SCOTT, minister of the gospel, and wife Elizabeth of Lincoln County, N.C. ,sell to ELI GARNETT for 100 pounds sterling, 150 acres, originally granted to said Scott by Sir James Wright, Aug. 2nd 1774.

        Jan. 10th 1787.  r/Nov. 12th 1791.  Sheriff HANDLEY of Richmond County, on writ of fi-fa against EZEKIAL OFFUTT, sells property at auction.  ISAIAH WRIGHT buys 250 acres on Kiokee Creek for 33 pounds.

        January 6, 1791.  r/Nov. 15th 1791.  WRIGHT sells above tract to JOHN BRISCOE for 75 pounds.

        Sept. 15th 1790.  r/Nov. 17th 1791.  ISAAC LOWE sells to DAVID VINSON for 25 pounds, 50 acres granted to ISAAC LOWE, SR., Dec. 31st 1787.  And left to his son ISAAC LOWE, Jr., by will (Richmond County)

        Nov. 11, 1791.  Deed of Gift.  ANN LYNN widow of WILLIAM  LYNN for love and affection of her children, Jane, Anne and Charles, gives a negro girl, Jane.

        Oct. 23, 1791.  r/Nov. 24th 1791.  EDWARD BURKE and wife Elizabeth to JOSEPH DAVIS for 10 pounds, sells 86 acres bounded by HAYES, LOWE and HIGGANBOTHAM.

        May 3rd, 1790.  r/Nov. 25, 1791.  WM. TINDALL and wife Betsy Ann, to BOOKER TINDALL for 75 pounds, 200 acre granted to JOHN TINDALL, also 40 acres on Uchee Creek, granted to JOHN TINDALL, adj. other tract.

        Sept. 30 1791.  r/Dec. 1, 1791.  WM. TINDALL, SR to WILLIAM TINDALL, Jr, for 50 pounds, 160 acre, the lower end of a 200 acre grant to WILLIAM TINDALL, SR., on Uchee Creek.

        Feb. 2, 1793.  r/Sept 7 1795.  James BEALLE, Gentleman, and wife Mary, to DALZIEL HUNTER, Esquire of Augusta, for 100 pounds a 200 acre plantation on Little River, granted to JAMES MCDONALD by the Honorable Samuel ELBERT, Feb. 14th 1785.  Sold to BEALLE, May 3rd 1791.

        Sept. 8th 1795.  r/Sept 21, 1795.  JOSEPH DAVIS appoints JESSE HAMLETT, Gentleman, attorney at Prince Edward County, Virginia, to recover from ROBERT HARDIN and FRANCES DEGRAFFENREID of Lunenburg County, Virginia, a tract of land on Ledbetter Creek, originally property of  JONOTHAN and WILLIAM  DAVIS, part of a 785 tract acre claimed by said John and William, now deceased, the said Joseph now claiming as legal representative of the late William.

        Dec. 7th 1791.  r/Sept. 30th 1795.  THOMAS MERIWETHER to ROBERT WARE, Bill of Sale for 45,000 pounds inspected tobacco, slaves Moll, John, Molly, Lucy, Robin, Nan, Easter, and Matt.

        May 18th 1795.  r/Sept. 28th 1795.  PRUDENCE STORY to RICHARD and JAMES SCRUGGS, Jr., for 20 pounds, 60 acres on Greenbriar prong of Kiokee Creek, originally granted to ROBERT STORY, July 7, 1772, adj. SMALLEY, BUGG, BLAIR and WATKINS, whereon I now live.

        Jan. 7th 1793.  r/Oct. 1, 1795.    Bill of Sale.  ELIJAH BRAGG to BENJAMIN REES for 30 pounds, a black mare, 11 years old, 14 hands high, star on forehead, a natural trotter, also a bay mare, two years old, 14 1/2 hands high, trots naturally.

        June 15, 1795.  r/Oct. 1, 1795.  NICHOLAS HOBSON BUGG of Richmond County, to ABRAHAM JONES for 350 pounds, 1100 acres on Greenbriar Creek, made up of three tracts.  1.  200 acres granted to THOMAS JONES, July 1st, 1774.  2.  400 acre tract known as Oak Hill, granted to NATHAN HARRIS and DANIEL COLE and conveyed to said BUGG by JOHN L.  DIXON.  3.  500 acres granted to ALEX INGLES and ANDREW FRAZER.

        Mar. 4, 1795.  r/Oct. 1, 1795.  CHARLES FARGASON and wife Winnifred, to BENJAMIN KING, for 20 shillings sterling 11 1/2 acres part of WM.  STANLEY's tract on Whiteoak.

        Aug. 2nd 1794.  r/Oct. 2, 1795.  WM.  GRAVES to DALZIEL HUNTER, Esquire, of Augusta, mortgages for 77 pounds, 10 shillings, 620 acres on Little River, granted to said Hunter, Apr. 26, 1787 (Graves was from Wilkes County and signed his name as GREAVES).

        Jan. 29th 1789.  r/Oct. 3, 1795.  WM. and DENNIS LINDSEY (Wm. from Wilkes, Dennis from Richmond), sell to JOSEPH LEWIS SHARPE of Wilkes County, for 60 pounds, 100 acres on head of Whiteoak Cree, on the Quaker Road to Augusta, granted by the Governor, May 2, 1787.  Sold by the Lindseys as heirs of mother, MARTHA LINDSEY.

        Feb. 6th 1789.  r/Oct. 3, 1795.  JOSEPH LEWIS SHARPE, sells above tract to RICHARD NAPIER for 20 pounds.

        Aug. 16th 1794.  r/Oct. 3rd 1795.  BASIL JONES and JOHN COBBS of Georgia, to LEONARD MAGRUDER, THEODORE BEALLE and WM. BEALLE, of Maryland, sell 100,000 acres in Montgomery County for the following sums:  46 pounds, 13 shillings, four pence on demand, and a further sum of 901 lbs in dry goods, agreeable to an invoice on the returns of warrants, with WM. SEWALLS certificates, all of which goods are to be delivered in August.  Mr. SEWALL is to examine goods.  Land is to be further paid for at eight pounds, 10 shillings for each thousand acres.  Mr. DAVIS and COL. MOORE of Hancock County, to prepare certificates.  (This was one of the many grants given in Montgomery County by Governor Matthews, whereby more land was granted than actually existed.)
