Apparently, there were some marital difficulties and Mr. Few and his wife separated. Quotation from some items: "Having been married to Miss Mary Candler and a mutual separation taking place, I paid up her dower and she has no further claim. Then the Codicil reads: Made petition Nov 29 1809 to have illegitimate children legalized. Approved by Governor Dec 1 1809. Names legally changed from Hicks to Few and they were made legal heirs.
