Andrews, Grant I.
84 of Musella died Friday, December 20, 2002. He was a lifelong
resident of Crawford County and was a rural mail carrier for years. He was
an Air Force veteran of World War II and was a member of Bethlehem Primitive
Baptist Church in Macon. He was preceded in death by his daughter Sherry
Willis. Services were held Monday,
December 23, 2002 at graveside in Roberta City Cemetery. Goddard Funeral
Home had charge of arrangements.
Banks, Jessie James Banks, Sr.
ROBERTA - Services for Jessie James "Rawhide" Banks, Sr. will be 2P.M.,
Wednesday, December 18, 2002 at C. J. Edwards Memorial Chapel, Fort Valley, with

Bloodworth, Mattie Elizabeth
MACON - Mrs. Mattie Elizabeth Bloodworth, age 76 of 5359 Fulton Mill Road,
died Wednesday at her residence. Funeral services will be at 2P.M., Friday in
Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, with burial in Mt. Pleasant Church Cemetery. The
Rev. Frank Chapman and Rev. Paul Meadows will officiate. Mrs. Bloodworth was
born in Bibb County and was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and retired
from Robins Air Force base. She was preceded in death by Pat Rowell and Frankie
Bloodworth. The family will be at the residence. Contributions may
be made in Mrs. Bloodworth's name to Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 5455 Mt.
Pleasant Church Road, Macon, 31216. Crest Lawn Funeral Home has charge of
arrangements.
Brewer, Louise Etheridge
MACON - Graveside services for Mrs. Louise Brewer will be 11A.M., December 6
in Nunn-Wheeler Cemetery with Rev. Bobby Gale officiating. Mrs. Brewer, 91,
passed away Wednesday afternoon in a Macon hospital. Preceded in death by her
husband, Mr. John C. Brewer, and son, Mr. Bobby Brewer, she was a native of
McIntyre, GA, but had lived in Macon most of her life. She was a retiree of
Lipson Fabrics and a member of Wheeler Heights Baptist Church. Williams White Columns Funeral Home
of Gordon is in charge of arrangements.
Brookins, Lonnie P., Jr.
BYRON - Lonnie P. Brookins, Jr., 84, of 2265 Lower Hartley Bridge Road, died
Thursday in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2P.M., Sunday at
Snow's Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. The
Rev. Durwood Souther and Rev. Leon Wynn will officiate. The family will meet
friends Saturday from 6:00 until 8:00P.M., at the funeral home. Mr. Brookins, son of the late Lonnie P. Brookins, Sr. and the late Smallie Lancaster
Brookins, was born in Sandersville and was a U. S. Army Veteran serving during
World War II with the 121st Infantry. He lived in Macon before moving to Byron
some thirty years age. Mr. Brookins was of the Baptist Faith was a machinist
retired from Robins Air Force Base. Snow's Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono
Avenue, has charge of arrangements.
Brown, Thomas L.
ROBERTA - Thomas L. Brown, 58, of Roberta, GA died December 5, 2002 at his
residence. Services will be private. -Tom served in the United States Navy in
Vietnam. In lieu of flowers, the family
requests donations in Tom's memory to Hospice of Central Georgia, PO Box 6533,
Macon, GA 31208. Hart's Mortuary has charge of arrangements.
Champion, Roberta McCrary
ROBERTA - Graveside services for Miss Roberta McCrary Champion will be held
at 2P.M., Monday at Salem Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. James Hamlin
will officiate. Miss Champion, 89, passed away Friday, December 27, 2002. She
was preceded in death by her parents, W. E. and Mattie McCrary Champion. Miss
Champion was a life-long resident of Crawford County. She graduated from G.S.C.W.
in Milledgeville and taught first grade in Crawford County for twenty-eight
years. She was a faithful member of the Roberta United Methodist Church for
seventy years and a member of The Guild. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Roberta United
Methodist Church. Visitation will be held Sunday afternoon from 3:00 until 5:00
P.M. at the funeral home. Goddard Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
Colbert, Extra "Fish"
Died December 30, 2002. Services are 2P.M. Saturday at Spring Hill Baptist
Church, Crawford County with interment in Knoxville Cemetery. Colbert, 56,
expired Monday. Remains viewable at Hicks and Sons
Roberta on Friday.
Corbin, Jonas
72 of Roberta died Friday, December 13, 2002. Services were held
Wednesday, December 18, 2002 at the old Crawford County Middle School
Auditorium, with burial in Flowers Cemetery. Bentley and Sons Funeral Home
of Roberta had charge of arrangements.
Culverhouse, Philip C. Sr.
ALBANY — Philip C. Culverhouse Sr. of Acworth, Georgia, formerly of Albany,
died, December 25, 2002, at Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, Georgia. The
funeral service will be Saturday at 2 PM, at Crown Hill Cemetery. The Rev.
Russell Anglin will officiate. A native of Knoxville, Georgia, he was a
longtime resident of Albany, and was retired Civil Service from the Marine Corps
Logistics Base. Mr. Culverhouse was a member of Mercedes Baptist Church of
Albany and was a veteran of WW II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nell Harper Culverhouse
and son, Philip C. Culverhouse Jr. Those desiring please make memorials to

Yawn, Raymond C. Jr.
45 of Macon died Saturday, December 28, 2002. He was the son of the
late Raymond C. Yawn and the late Mary Dianne Turner Yawn. Services were held Friday, January 3, 2003
at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville. Memorials may
be made to assist with funeral expenses. Snow's Memorial Chapel in Macon
had charge of arrangements.
