ROBERTA - Lillie Kendrick Bakon departed her life peacefully at home on July 19, 2006. Services will be 2P.M. Sunday at Mt. Zion C.M.E. Church with burial in Knoxville Cemetery. -She came into this world on July 10, 1922 to the parentage of Jobe and Ludie Harvey Kendrick. She was the widow of William Bakon and joined the Mt. Zion C.M.E. Church at an early age, where she served faithfully until her health declined. -Her memories will always be cherished in the heart of her six children,

Daughter of the late Fellow Knolton and late Florence Colbert Knolton. Member and Mother Mount Baptist Church, former President of the Senior Choir, Secretary, Usher and Deaconess. Roberts, Jimmielu Smith
Mrs. Jimmielu Smith Roberts, age 82, of Griffin, passed away on Tuesday, July
25, 2006 at the Spalding Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Roberts was born in
Miami, Florida on December 25, 1923 to the late James Chester Smith and the late
Alma Estelle Hudson Smith. She is preceded in death by her sister, Hazel Z.
Baulknight; niece, Virginia Crawford; and a great-nephew, Miles Crawford. Mrs.
Roberts was retired from Sears & Roebucks after 34 years of service. She was a
member of Victory Tabernacle Church of God, and the Council on Aging. Mrs.
Roberts is survived by her nieces, Charlene H. Parker of Griffin, and Anise
Sawyer of Zebulon; 4 great-nieces, 7 great-nephews, 21 great-great nieces and
nephews, and 5 great-great-great-nieces and nephews. Funeral services for
Mrs. Jimmielu Smith Roberts will be conducted on Friday, July 28, 2006 at 10:00
a.m. in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Reverend Steve Waldon and
Reverend Marvin Latte will officiate. Interment will follow in Society Hill
Baptist Church Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. in Fort Valley, Georgia, with Harold Sawyer
officiating. Friends may visit the family on Thursday evening from 7:00 p.m.
