Banks, Rosie Singleton
MUSELLA - Funeral services for Rosie Singleton Banks, 62, will be 1P.M. Tuesday, May 9, 2006 at Little Rogers C.M.E. Church, Highway 74, Forsyth, GA. Burial church cemetery. -Mrs. Banks died Friday, May 5, 2006 in Albany, GA. -Survivors include husband, children,
sisters, brothers, two grandchildren, two aunts, eight sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
Memorials may be made to the Family (Banks and Singleton) in lieu of flowers.

Beard, Stanley
KNOXVILLE - Stanley S. Beard, age 49, died at his residence on May 26, 2006. Funeral services will be private. -Mr. Beard was born in Waycross, Georgia and had lived in Knoxville for the past 16 years. He was a fork lift operator, he served in the US Army and he attended a non denominational church. He was preceded in death by his father, Carl B. Beard, Sr., wife, Bonnie McCorkle Beard and nephew, William H. Lewis -Survivors include his sons,
step-son, and step daughter, mother, brothers and sisters, five nieces; three nephews, seven great nieces and nephews. -Crest Lawn Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
Gay, Shirley Byrd
ROBERTA - Shirley Byrd Gay, 64, went to join the Lord on Monday, May 15, 2006. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday at Macon Memorial Park with the Rev. Doug Davis officiating. The family will meet friends from 6 - 8 p.m., Wednesday at Snow's Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue and may be contacted at the residence. -Mrs. Gay, wife of the late William B. "Ben" Gay, was born in Fort Valley to the late Clifford Paul Byrd, Sr. and Mildred Edenfield Byrd. She had lived in Macon and Roberta most of her life and had worked at Middle Georgia Hospital as a Lab Technician. Mrs. Gay was a member of the Baptist Faith. -Survivors include her children,
ten grandchildren, one great grandchild, her brother, and many nieces and nephews.
Snow's Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue has charge of arrangements.
Giles, James Philip
ROBERTA - James Philip Giles, 84, son of James Onie Giles and Nettie Ophelia Giles of Crawford County, died peacefully in his sleep on May 14, 2006 from complications of lung cancer. JP, as he was known to family and friends, lived in Crawford County most of his life. Among his many roles in life, he was proudest of his role as husband to the late Mary Clarice Giles, father to his three daughters, and grandfather to 5 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was also deeply proud of his service as a combat engineer and the men he served with in the 24th Armored Engineer Battalion, 4th Armor Division of the Third Army during combat from D-Day through VE Day. He was a member of the Crawford County Masonic Lodge and a former deacon in the Roberta Baptist Church. Prior to retiring to Marshall, NC, JP worked in the trucking business for many years as owner operator. -He is survived by his sister,
and his daughters. JP also is survived by 2 granddaughters, three grandsons, and one
great-granddaughter. -The funeral will be held graveside in the Roberta City Cemetery on 2P.M.Wednesday, May 17. Visitation will be at Goddard Funeral Home in Roberta form 12:00 until 1:00P.M. -In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the cancer of hospice, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Home at 760 Pollard Boulevard SW, Atlanta, GA 30315. -Goddard Funeral Home of Roberta is in charge of arrangements.

ROBERTA - Catherine Tennyson passed away May 31, 2006. Services will be 3P.M. Monday at Pineview Baptist Church, Roberta with burial in Cherry Blossom Memorial Gardens, Lizella. -Survivors include children,
