Arrington, Danny Joe
Mr. Danny Joe Arrington, age 35, of Perry formerly of Bremen passed away
October 3, 1986. He was a graduate of Emory University. He was Chief of
Respiratory at Higgins General Hospital in Bremen before moving to Perry four
years ago. He was currently Chief of Respiratory at Peach County Hospital in
Fort Valley. He was also co-owner of Crawford County Rehabilitation Agency in
Roberta. Mr. Arrington was also very active in the Perry First Baptist Church
and the
Perry Rotary Club. He was also a member of the Sertoma Club. Survivors
include his wife, the former Kathy McPherson; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dewell
Arrington of Macon: sister, Mrs. Sandra Tovar of Sharpsburg; three brothers, Mr.
Craig Arrington, Mr. Donnie Arrington, and Mr. Scott Arrington all of Macon.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, October 5. 1986 at 4:30 p.m. from the
Bremen First United Methodist Church with Rev. Tim Holbrook and Rev. Lee
Branham officiating. Music was rendered by Mrs. Martie Sailors accompanied at
the organ by Mrs. Sarah Calhoun. Pallbearers were: Key Christianson, Robbie
Smith, Ron Holt, Rusty McAllister. Danny Hutcheson, and Alien Arp.
Honorary pallbearers were: George Richards, Chalmers Jones. Robbie
Threadgill, Steve Manlev, John Notch, Jim Stovall, Kirby Whitton, and Jim
Henderson. Interment followed in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Bremen.
Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel of Buchanan was in charge of arrangements.
Burnette, Lawton Miller
Lawton Miller Burnette, 95, died Friday in a Butts County nursing home.
Funeral services were held Sunday at Salem Primitive Baptist Church in Crawford
County. Burial was at the church cemetery. Elder Frank King officiated.
Mr. Burnette, a lifelong resident of Crawford County was a member and deacon at
Mr. Carmel Primitive Baptist Church in Crawford County. He was a former Field
Reporter with the ASCS (Agricultural Stabilization Conservation Service).
He was the chairman of the Republican party in Crawford County for many years
and was a farmer. Survivors include his wife, Dora M. Burnette of Macon
and several nieces and nephews. Goddard Funeral Home of Roberta had charge
of
arrangements.
McGuire, Lillian Bentley
Lillian Bentley McGuire, 71. died Thursday in a Fort Valley Nursing Home.
Funeral services were held Saturday at Providence Primitive Baptist Church in
Roberta. Burial was in the Roberta City Cemetery. Elder Frank King
officiated. Mrs. McGuire, a lifelong resident of Crawford County, was a
member of Mt. Carmel Primitive Baptist Church in Crawford County. She
served as clerk of the Crawford County Selective Service Board during World War
II. She was a
homemaker. Survivors include a son, Oscar B. McGuire of Roberta, a
daughter, Faye M. Hollis of Roberta; a brother, Thomas W. Bentley of Macon and
one grandchild. Goddard Funeral Home of Roberta had charge of
arrangements.
