Mr. Chapman died Monday, 28 Oct 2002 From The Macon Telegraph, 30 Oct

MACON - Lawson L. Chapman, 83, of 5000 Pinefield Drive, died
Monday at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 3P.M., Thursday in the
chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home with burial in Mt. Pleasant Church Cemetery.
Dr. Jerry W. McCant and Rev. Berry Hampton will officiate. -Mr. Chapman was born
in Crawford County and attended Trinity Church of the Nazarene. He retired from
Armstrong World Industries and was a Veteran serving in the U.S. Army. He was
preceded in death by two daughters, Jewell Dean Hanson and Joyce C. Martin.
-Survivors include wife, Mary Ann Chapman of Macon; son, Andrew Lawson Chapman,
Sr., of Macon, Rena Self, the mother of two wonderful grandchildren, Brandi
Beatrice Chapman Daniels and Andrew Lawson Chapman, Jr.; grandchildren: Shannon
Lee Martin of Macon, Brandi Beatrice Chapman Daniels and Charles W. Daniels,
Jr., both of Macon, Andrew Lawson Chapman, Jr. and Jennifer Marie Chapman, both
of Macon; three great-great-grandchildren: Dacey Amanda Daniels, Charles W.
Daniels, III and Renee Joyce Martin, all of Macon; brother, Rev. Horace Chapman
of Fort Valley; sisters, Nell Livingston and Herbert Livingston of Macon,
Cristine Suber of Macon. -The family may be at the residence and receive friends
at Crest Lawn Funeral Home, Wednesday from 7:00 until 9:00P.M. -Contributions

Giles, Mary Clarice
MARSHALL, NC - Mary Clarice Giles, 78, of Upper Brush Creek Road, passed
away Wednesday, October 23, 2002 at a local hospital. Funeral services were
conducted at 2.P.M., Saturday, October 26, 2002 at Marshall First Baptist
Church. The Rev. Dr. Alan Gragg officiated. Graveside services will be conducted
at 2P.M., Tuesday, October 29 at the Roberta City Cemetery in Roberta, GA. -A
native of Georgia, Mrs. Giles had lived in Madison County for the past several
years. She was a member of Marshall First Baptist Church and retired from the
federal government as a budget analyzer. She was the daughter of the late Bascom
and Mary Maggie Lewis Andrews. -Mrs. Giles is survived by her husband, James
Phillip Giles; daughters and sons -in-law: Alice and Billy Maddox, Phyllis and
John Mann, Iris and Bobby House; sister, Mable Langford; brother: Lewis Andrews;
grandchildren, Amy Hall and her husband, Wes, Sara Maddox, Travis Mann, Sean
Mann and Lucas House; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. -The family will
receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00P.M. Friday at Madison Funeral Home in

Gordon, L. D.
REYNOLDS - Funeral services for L. D. Gordon, 84, of Reynolds, who passed
away on Thursday, October 31, 2002 at his residence will be held on Saturday at
2P.M. in the Chapel of Goddard Funeral Home with the Rev. Julian Whatley and
Rev. Wayne Marcus officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. -Mr.
Gordon was a member of Mount Olive Free Will Baptist Church, was Chief of Police
in Reynolds for 23 years, was involved in the law enforcement in Taylor County
for 36 years and was a member of the Peace Officers Association. -Survivors
include his wife, Ina Jo Ingle Gordon of Reynolds; daughters and sons-in-law:
Eva and Joe Bone of Reynolds, Shirley and Homer Jackson of Roberta and Alvina
and Bennie Robinson of Reynolds; grandchildren: Vance McGough, Donnie McGough,
John B. Jackson, Gwen Childree and Rhonda Rozier; ten great-grandchildren; one
great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews. -The family will assemble at
the residence at 600 Liberty Street. -Goddard Funeral Home of Reynolds is in
charge of arrangements.
Quilty, Susan K.
41 of Byron died Tuesday, October 15, 2002 in an area hospital. She
was born in Clinton, Iowa and was a graduate of H. Scott High School in
Eldridge, Iowa and the LaJames School of Cosmetology. She had worked at
Yonkers and Dillard's Department Stores. She was a member of St. Mary's
Lutheran Church, Davenport, Iowa and had lived in Byron the past year and a
half. She was preceded in death by her father, the late David Judge.
Survivors include her husband, John T. Quilty of Byron, formerly of Davenport,
Iowa; two daughters, Amanda Harris and Christina Harris, both of Byron; her
mother and stepfather, Patricia and Ron Wilkins of Davenport, Iowa; a sister,
Cindy Judge Townzell of Davenport, Iowa; several nieces and nephews; and her
best friend, Brenda Gillispie, of Davenport, Iowa. Services were held
Saturday, October 19, 2002 in Davenport, Iowa, with Weerts Funeral Home in
charge of aggangements. Memorials made be made to the American Cancer
Society, P.O. Box 4406, Macon, GA 31208. Snow's Memorial Chapel of
Macon had charge of local arrangements.
