Astin, Ralph M.
44 of Lizella died Wednesday, September 11, 2002. He was born in
Albuqerque, New Mexico to Mary Astin and the late James W. Astin, but had been a
resident of Macon for most of his life. He was the owner of AAA Sheet
Metal and Mechanics in Lizella. Survivors include his wife, Stephanie
Astin of Lizella; two daughters, Jenna Ann Astin and Erica Astin, both of
Lizella; two sons, Josh Astin and Jason Rigby, both of Lizella; his mother Mary
Astin of Macon; a brother, James "Jim" Astin of Lizella; and two sisters,
Michele Stokes of Macon and Sharon Cliff of Farhills, New Jersey. Services
were held Sunday, September 15, 2002 at the chapel of Macon Memorial Park
Funeral Home, with burial in Macon Memorial Park. Macon Memorial Park
Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
Barefoot, Nannelle Barrett
LIZELLA - Nannelle Barrett Barefoot, formerly of 19 Spell Lane, died
Saturday, September 21, 2002, at her residence. Funeral services will be held
Tuesday, September 24, 2002, at 3:00PM at the Napier Avenue Church of God.
Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be
held Monday, September 23, 2002, from 7:00PM until 9:00PM. The family may be
contacted at 437 Williams Road in Ft. Valley, GA. -Mrs. Barefoot was a member of
the Napier Avenue Church of God and the widow of the late Earnest Robert
Barefoot, Sr. She was also preceded in death by 2 brothers and 1 sister.
-Survivors: Daughter, Linda Dotson of Ft. Valley; Son, Earnest Robert Barefoot,
Jr. of Macon; 7 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. -Hart's Mortuary has
charge of arrangements.
Bryant, Katie Ruth
FORT VALLEY - Katie Ruth Bryant died September 13, 2002. Graveside services
will be 1P.M., Monday, September 16 at Knoxville Methodist Church in Knoxville,
GA. Rev. David Wilkins will officiate. -She was a homemaker, born in Taylor
County and attended New Faith Baptist Church in Fort Valley. -Survivors include
two daughters, Marie Juanita Barfield and Marie Frances Lamb, both of Fort
Valley; two brothers, Owen Daniel Bryant and James Lewis Bryant, both of Fort
Valley; five grandchildren, Sabrina Juanita Aldridge and Kurtis Lamar Aldridge,
Carlisa Marie Lamb, Justin Carl Lamb and Kurtis Allen Lamb. -The family will
receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00P.M. Sunday, September 15 at Rooks Funeral
Home in Fort Valley. Family may be contacted at 208 Miller Street, Fort Valley.

Busbee, Charles Larry
FORT VALLEY -Charles Larry Busbee, 57, died September 23, 2002. Services
will be 1P.M., Thursday, September 26, 2002 in the chapel at Glen Haven Memorial
Gardens. Rev. Bobby Hamlin will officiate. -Mr. Busbee was born in Bibb Co., and
was employed at a steel worker. -Survivors include wife, Evelyn Busbee of Fort
Valley; children, Larry Neal Busbee, Todd Larry Busbee, and Kandi Busbee all of
Florida, and Michael Wayne Sellers of South Dakota; sisters, Robin Boone and
Linda Parks of Florida; brothers, Millard Busbee of Arizona and Havis Busbee of
Roberta; 12 grandchildren. -Memorials may be made to Vista Care Hospice
Foundation, 750 Baconsfield Dr., Suite 115, Macon 31211. -The family will
receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 25 at Rooks
Funeral Home in Byron. The family will also receive friends at the residence at
3951 Rowell Road after the graveside service. -Rooks Funeral Home in Byron has
charge of arrangements.
Colbert, Amos Andrew
ROBERTA - Mr. Amos Andrew Colbert, "Bro. Dub", age 102, died on Friday,
September 20, 2002. Services will be held Friday, September 27, 2002 at 2P.M. at
Saint James Baptist Church in Roberta, GA with burial in Pleasant Grove
Cemetery. -Mr. Colbert is survived by his children, Rosa L. Colbert Johnson of
Atlanta, Alice Colbert Childress of Macon, Ruby Colbert Samples (Jessie) and
Marion Colbert of Atlanta; two grandchildren, reared as his own, Ruby Lee
Colbert-Jordan and Beverly Ann Colbert-Jordan, both of Roberta, GA; brother,
George Colbert (Pauline); daughters-in-law, Katie Lee Colbert of Macon and
Beatrice Colbert of Roberta; forty grandchildren; approximately sixty-six great
grandchildren and forty-three great-great grandchildren. -The family can be

Kenyon, Jewell Blasingame
CUTHBERT — 87 of Rt. 1, Coleman, died Sunday, September 22, 2002, at Ft.
Gaines Nursing Home. The graveside funeral service will be conducted at 11
a.m. Wednesday at New Park Cemetery in Ft. Gaines. The Rev. David Murphy
and the Rev. Jackie Williams will officiate. Mrs. Kenyon was born August
30, 1915, in Crawford County, GA,
daughter of the late William Bonaparte and Sara Amanda Blasingame. She was
a former resident of Winter Haven, FL, where she was a high school dietitian.
Mrs. Kenyon was a member of Mt. Hebron Baptist Church. Survivors include
her husband, Leonard Rex Kenyon of Coleman; three sons, Jarrett Leonard Kenyon
of Alachua, FL; William O. "Bill" Kenyon of Ft. Gaines, and Clarence E. Kenyon
of Banner Elk, NC; a daughter, Frances K. Heatherly of Meridianville, AL; a
sister, Sarah B. Holloway of Gainesville, FL; nine grandchildren and nine great
grandchildren.
Pilkey, Andrew Lee (Drew) Jr.
28, of Roberta died Wednesday, September 4, 2002 at his residence. He
was born in Bibb County, where he lived most of his life. He had moved to
Crawford County a year ago. Survivors include his parents, Andrew Lee
Pilkey Sr. and June Honeycutt Pilkey of Roberta; a sister, Christina Creyts of
Marietta; his aunts and uncles, Walter and Margaret McMahan of Lizella, Ernest
N. and Alice Pilkey of Canton, North Carolina, Betty and Fred Feamster of
Tuckasceigee, North Carolina, Sam and Andrea Honeycutt of Gastonia, North
Carolina, and Crawford and Claire Honeycutt of Arlington, Virginia.
Services were held Saturday, September 7, 2002 at Goddard Funeral Home in
Roberta. Goddard Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
