STOCK ORDINANCES
45. Be it ordained by the town council of Roberta, that it shall be unlawful
for the owner of any horse or mule, cattle, hogs, goats, etc, to permit the same
to run at large in the corporate limits in the town of Roberta. Any person or
persons violating this ordinance by permitting said described stock to run at
large in said town limits shall be subject to a fine of twenty five cents and
twenty five cents cost, or less at discretion, and the Marshal shall take up all
of said stock and impound them until said fine is paid. Provided this ordinance
shall not be enforced against the owner of any horse or mule or other animal
while being driven to and from market or to and from pasturage.
46. And be it further ordained by the authority aforesaid, that each and every
person or persons taking their stock out of the pound after being impounded
without the consent of the Marshal or his deputy shall be liable to a fine of
one dollar and one dollar cost to the Marshal.
47. The fines imposed in the foregoing sections may be paid by working on the
streets not less than one nor more than ten days. When said fine is paid by
working on the streets then the town is to pay the Marshal his cost out of funds
not otherwise appropriated.
The preceding 3 sections are adopted and all laws and parts of laws in conflict
with them are hereby repealed.
