Sir, the Capt. of the Crawford Cavalry requested me to write to you to know whether or not you could furnish the Cavalry with sevan pistols or he wishes to be informed by the fourth of July, if you will be so obliging, as it appears the Company will be broke up if they cant be Eq. He has a very nice company at this time of 62 in uniform.  If you will drop me a few lines inform me as soon as you receive this you will co(illegible here but I believe it is convey) a favor on your most obedient servant.                                               John Whittington Jr.
