Crawford County News
Mr. H.K. Sealy, of Reynolds, spent a few hours here last Wednesday.
Miss Odell Pierce and Ouida Cosey have returned to their homes in Taylor County.
Carr’s Mill is the center of attraction these days, there’s never a day but some
crowd is there picnicking or camping from Roberta, Fort Valley and other towns;
and it is a fine place to picnic.
The machine recently purchased by the county commissioners for use on the roads
of Crawford County has arrived and is now engaged in working the road between
Roberta and the Bibb County line. This is the same type of machinery being
used on the other roads of the state with a high degree of satisfaction and
Warden Vaughn expect to increase the efficiency of the gang both in speed and
quality of work being done. The machinery weighs about 8,000 pounds and is
capable of pulling six scrapes at a speed of four miles an hour on 10 gallons of
gasoline per day.
