Additional Information
There are
several more graves I know to be at the old Beaver dam cemetery From family lore
all of Beaver Dam cemetery is related to the Shurleys of Crawford county either
by blood or by marriage. Those I know to be there are as follows:
1. W. A. (William Arthur) Shurley 9-1-1892 to 6-25-1936 he was son of John
Edward and Sarah Rebecca King Shurley married Alice Sidonia Cody. Williams grave
is the large Woodmen of America headstone. His parents John and Sarah are buried
behind him on an angle.
2. George Thomas Cody 2/1842 to 10-17-1923. He has a cement slab for a marker
next to him is another cement slab that marks the grave of his wife Molly
Johnson Cody 7-13-1874 to 1-3-1946.
3. Directly behind them is the grave of Frances Louise Shurley 12-12-1922 to
12-25-1924. This is the daughter of W.A. and Alice Cody Shurley. Alice is the
daughter of George and Molly Johnson Cody.
4. Robert Shurley is the younger brother of W.A. Shurley he was born 4-11-1898
died 10-17-1910.
5. Thomas Edward Shurley born 10-25-1882 and died 1-23-1900. He was a half
brother to William Arthur. I was up in May and did pictures and video of family
graves as we visited them. Thanks for allowing me to add to the records.
A big thanks also goes out to Terri Hoye for this additional information!
