My ancestor, Lydia Cook, died in Effingham County between 1833 and 1837. I have obtained a copy of Lydia's will which was filed in Effingham County Probate Court January 2, 1837. She bequeathed her plantation and slaves to a person named Wm H. Tucker (SP?). Tucker and a person whose name I cannot read were named as Executors and were to bury her. Her husband, Henry, had predeceased her possibly in 1829. I would like to locate Lydia's grave and Henry's grave if posssible. I have looked at the cemetery listings on the Effingham County web site without success. I would like to come to Springfield and attempt to locate the graves and anything else I can find out about them. Could you give me any clues where to start? As far as I can determine Lydia and Henry only had one child - also named Henry. That child moved to Mississippi and is my great great grandfather.
