Researching William CRAWFORD who in 1794 married as his second wife,
Miss Martha (Patsy) BAILEY. To this couple was born in 1795 my
third-great-grandfather, Rev. Jesse Howell CRAWFORD. William
CRAWFORD died ca 1797 in Effingham Co. His widow, Martha "Patsy"
then married Richard TOUCHSTONE. Martha was deceased ca 1810 when
her widower married another Martha (as proved by county marriage
records). Jesse CRAWFORD, along with GRAHAM in-laws were residing in
Marion Co., MS by 1820.

I am researching the family of William CRAWFORD who, in 1794,
married Miss Martha 'Patsy' BAILEY in Effingham Co., GA. I descend
through the only child of their marriage, REV. Jesse Howell

death of William CRAWFORD Martha BAILEY CRAWFORD married Christopher
TOUCHSTONE. She died by ca 1812. REV. Jesse Howell CRAWFORD, who
served as a Private in the War of 1812 from Effingham Co., GA,
married (1)FLORAH, a daughter of DOUGALD & Florah GRAHAM who
resided in the Effingham & Screven Co. area. Am also researching
the family of James & Charity BEAL SLATER and family who resided
in the Effingham/Screven Co. area. James SLATER died ca 1803. I
descend through their son, Charles SLATER b.1776, who later with his
family removed to MS. John STRAHAN and his wife Naomi were residing
in Effingham Co. as early as 1794 as proved by his signature on
various petitions. His brother, Moses STRAHAN, also resided in the
county and was married to Rachael HOWARD. About 1812/13 John STRAHAN
acquired a passport of he and his family to move to the western
country. He is enumerated on the 1816 Hancock Co., MS census; he
