I found a deed of gift dated Oct. 10, 1792, where Sarah FRIARMOOD of Effingham Co., Ga., gave items and a portion of her home place to her daughter Mary THORNTON and also part of the home place to her other daughter, Elizabeth, wife of Aaron CROSBY, and to their son, Henry CROSBY, she gave a cow and calf. Aaron Crosby is my gggggrandfather. I would like to know if anyone else has information on the four people mentioned in the will. Aaron and Elizabeth were living in S.C. at the time of the gift and apparently moved to the homeplace to help care for Sarah. Aaron is listed in the 1805 Land Lottery in Effingham Co.

I am looking for any information about parents or siblings of Jesse DAVIS born 1799-1800 in South Carolina. He married Margaret METZGER in Effingham County on Jan. 28, 1828. They had a family and farm in Effingham. They moved to Alachua County, Florida about Sept.-December 1850. My theory is that Jesse is from across the Savannah River. Jesse had a lot of business dealings in Effingham County and is listed in the courthouse several times but nothing that gives me a clue to his parents or siblings. Jesse died in Alachua County Feb. 13, 1857

I am interested in the ancestors of William STAFFORD and his wife, Anna Maria GEIGER. They were married 1773 at Old Ebenezer Lutheran Church, Efflingham Co., GA. William died in the 1780s and Anna Maria married Jacob HOFFMAN/HUFFMAN and later lived in Bulloch Co., GA. Was Anna Maria a daughter of Ulrich GEIGER and his wife, Anna Maria Magdeline?
