I'm looking for information on my paternal grandparents who I know lived in Egypt, GA around 1900 to 1920: John ZACHARY, born August 1889 and died in 1969, married at Macedonia Church in 1909 to Rita BOWEN who was also born in 1889 and died in 1949 in Cleveland, OH. Their first daughter, Carol ZACHARY, was born about 1910 and died within one year. They owned a farm during that time period also. Also, regarding the BOWEN line, Rita BOWEN had a brother named Garfield BOWEN. I believe her parents were named Levi and Arana BOWEN. I was told that they were killed in some sort of accident while Rita and her brother were children.

Seeking informationon Richard William FLAKE and Kiziah Cornelia MCELVEEN. 1. Date of death and burial place for both Richard William Richard FLAKE and Kiziah Cornelia (MCELVEN) FLAKE. 2. Name of Richard William FLAKE's second wife, her birth date and place, their marriage date and place and her death date and place. Background information that I have is as follows: Richard William FLAKE b. September 18, 1845 in Screven County, married October ?, 1866 to Kiziah Cornelia MCELVEEN in Effingham County, b. September 5, 1849, died after 1900. Richard William was the son of Richard Scruggs FLAKE and Ann (HODGES) FLAKE of Screven County. Richard William appears in the 1850 Screven County census with his parents Richard S. FLAKE and Ann (HODGES) FLAKE , FN 607. His age is listed as 5. Richard William appears in the 1860 Effingham County census with his mother Ann (HODGES) FLAKE, FN 72. His age is listed as 14. Richard William FLAKE and Cornelia FLAKE appear in the 1880 census of Effingham County with 5 children. FN 297. The oldest child was 11 years old, and the youngest was 9 months old. Their only son, Norman Morehouse, settled in Bulloch County. Their daughters settled first in Savannah. Keziah MCELVEEN appears in the 1850 census of Bulloch County as the daughter of William Emanuel MCELVEEN and Elizabeth (WISE) MCELVEEN. Her age is listed as 1. Kiziah also appears in the 1860 census of Bulloch County with her father William Emanuel MCELVEEN. Her age is given as 9. Other information about Kiziah Cornelia MCELVEEN including her birth date and name (Keziah Cornelia) appears in a booklet titled MCELVEEN published by Lucy DEAL GARLAND. Richard William FLAKE appears in the 1900 census of Effingham County with 2 children by his second wife and his daughter Betsy (Elizabeth) by his first wife and Betsy's husband and their child. From this census it appears that Richard William FLAKE's first wife died after 1880 and before 1890 and that he remarried about the same time period. His second wife was either divorced or dead by 1900.
