On March 15, 1888, in Effingham co. Ga. marriage records is found: GEORGE W. BESSINGER of South Carolina, married MISS EMMA WOOLF. The name Miss Emma Woolf has surfaced recently during my attempts to gather Wolf/Wolfe/Woolf information in the area. Desc. of the FOY/DUTTON/DASHER lines have also found reference to this young woman in their family scrapbooks and such. Evidentally Miss Emma was a friend of the family in the Egypt area. This week I was blessed with the gift of a lovely photo of MISS EMMA WOOLF. a visit to the local courthouse produced the marriage record mentioned above. Can anyone idenify EMMA WOOLF BESSINGER? Was she somehow connected with the Wolf/Wolfe family of Egypt, Ga.? I am also trying to idenify a Noah WOLFE and the idenification of his parents.

A land platt found in the court records of Effingham County, dated April 30th, 1861, pertaining to a WILLIAM ROUNDTREE leads me to believe that this may have been the father of CORNELIUS GREEN ROUNTREE b. 1856. The plat representing 52 acres, 1 rod and 27 poles of land conveyed from a Mr. Nease to William Rountree being part of a tract of land conveyed from H. LOVE to F. BROGDON. This transaction was signed by J. E. WILSON, dept of E.C.and L.N. Zetrourer, as well as L.J. Nease. This land conveyed shows that Wm. Roundtree's land was very near to the Central Rail Road. A similiar transaction took place in May of 1862 pertaining to 28 acres and 14 poles of land, lying on the Central Rail Road, 18 miles above Savannah, belonging to Mr. Love. signed by J.E. Wilson, H.L. BLITCH and S.B. DAVIS. Can anyone idenity this William Rountree? His birth would have been prior to 1841. Could he have had sons Cornelius, William Franklin and Bonaparte ROUNTREE?
